Died too young.

quote:

ATHENS -- David McCluskey was not as well-known as his three counterparts when Georgia branded its talented backfield as the “Four Horsemen” in the mid-1980s. But he was equally loved and appreciated by his position-mates, Tim Worley, Keith Henderson and Lars Tate. McCluskey died Monday in his hometown of Rome. He was 59.

Chip might be a little confused. Mccluskey was the back that took over when Herschel went pro (1983) and might have played with Worley, Henderson and Tate in 1985.

However the 4 Horsemen was 1988 and it was Worley, Henderson, Alphonso Ellis and Hampton.

Undefeated Senior season in high school 1982 at West Rome. All American LB and RB in high school. Played one year for the Bengals. Became a minister after that in Rome.
