well for starters I've noticed a disturbing lack of beers in these grilling pics, what's a riboff without some suds?

And no guns either. Beer/drinks/etc and guns are gold mines for votes.

I'm pretty sure Deeprig has something up his sleeve. He's slow-playing the shite out of this RibOff.

No, I’ve been using it for about two weeks now to break it in and learn about it. First time to smoke ribs on it though.

What type of smoker is it? Pics?

I’m envisioning one of those big rigs you pull on a truck.

Edit: sorry..missed it. Looks nice!

So, you bought a new smoker just for RibOff3?

That hits me in my heart, man. I don't know if I even need to see anything else. My vote may be decided.

Actually I had been thinking about it for some time and was having a hard time deciding on a grill or a smoker. And then one of the GSB members posted about a pellet grill and it rekindled my interest. So I did some more research and ended up getting this one. I got sold on them because they are very versatile.

disturbing lack of beers

I have an equally disturbing pile of beer cans and empty wine bottles from last night which almost put the whole thing on the rocks this morning.

I have a gimmick McSnoot Ale someone gave me that's suppose to of been marinated in baseball bat wood for some reason to give it bat flavor. I'm not kidding.

I'll try it after emptying a few more Bud Lights and let you know how terrible it is.

Actually, I wonder if I should even open it.

It may become a collector's item one day as one of those things people can't believe ever got made.

Apple wood smoke with the jonboat in the background, as requested. I can't picture the Saturn as it was scrapped last year.

This little grill likes to sit right at 250* with the coal profile I chose and angle of the sun at the moment. I nailed it right out of the gate, this is my first bbq experiment on this little grill. I'll be the first to admit this is luck, although skill and experience does tend to make one's luck better.

Also following is a picture of today's flavor profile. We're all out of my father-in-law's honey from his own hives, so I have to settle for some local unprocessed wildflower honey from Danielsville.

When I drink this baseball bat McSnoot is there anything I'm suppose to do different than when drinking a regular beer? Do I take sip and swish it across my pallet and then look at the bottom of the can for some reason like I've seen people do?

The best way to make it palatable is to not drink it ice cold, all you’ll taste is bitter. Let it warm up a little and whatever you do, don’t let it get exposed to direct sunlight. I’m not kidding.

Jeff is it a "chopsecutioner"? I'm big into the brewniversity at taco Mac and I saw them pushing that a few weeks ago. Looks like it's just a braves themed version of a terrapin

This sounds like the instructions in that movie 'Gremlins'.

Yes. That's the one

" A play on our best selling blah blah blah 6 hops blah blah and skillfully aged in the same wood used to make baseball bats"

Have you ever tasted a baseball bat? I haven't.

Also, the turtle most definitely has on an Atlanta Braves hat. It's not just made to look similar to a braves hat. It's a braves hat.

Litigator,

You're an attorney. Is this legal?

Pretty sure the beer is a collaboration with the Braves for the Terrapin mini brewery at Suntrust Park so I doubt there are any licensing/trademark issues. That said, it is not very good, in a can or on tap at the park.

Same here but I BBQ’d myself out over the spring with the cool dry weather. It’s hard for me to stay outside when it’s humid like this. I work outside all week so I like to stay in the ac on the weekend. It’s possible the bulldogs will be playing before i fire up the egg for a long smoke again.
