Kirby gets testy with Chip because he's the only one that asks the tough questions. He asks the questions the fans actually want to know instead of the generic crap the rest of them ask. They ask Smart a bunch of softball questions that no one cares about but Towers actually pressures Smart to provide answers. His job isn't to be a cheerleader for UGA (although it's clear he's a fan) but to ask the questions the fans want to know about.

It's ok Smart gets testy with him, that just means he's doing his job.

You can speak for yourself.

He asks questions that opposing coaches want to know. If fans want to know it too, then that is on them.

I dont need a description of conception, pregnancy, and labor. Just show me the baby. And I'm a UGA media junkie.

I actually do not know who asks which questions.

Can you give us an example of a tough question Chip asks Kirby?

I don’t remember what the question was, but Smart’s response was something like “Define the ‘Georgia way’, Chip.”

When kirby called that ridiculously stupid fake punt, Chip called it like it was. All the other writers just take Kirby at his word.

For Kirby to say it's "irrelevant" now regarding Newman is absurd. If he wants to dodge the question then that's fine but don't be a baby about it and get an attitude with Chip. It was big news and getting more details on that is Chip's job.

That's like, your opinion man.

I knew if we gave the ball back to Bama, they score. Mobile QBs killed us all season.

You can bitch and moan about the playcall all that you want. We give the ball back to Bama, they win. That was the obvious reality.

Did he ask why we didn’t kick the 50 yarder to put USCjr away and went for a failed hail Mary?

How relevant is Jacob Eason to our 2020 season? Justin Fields? Jake Fromm? Is Nate Hybl relevant to our 2020 season?

It isnt relevant. The relevant question is, "who is the next man up?" That is always the relevant question.

No one off the team has any impact on this team. In college football, players will always come and go. Focusing on who is gone is never productive.

I remember watching that play because my seat was at the top row of the entire stadium and out of the corner of my eye I see Fields trot onto the field. He hadn't been on the punt team all day and I thought to myself "Surely Kirby wouldn't try such an obvious fake right now. If I can see it at the top of the stadium then certainly a BAMA player can"

I'd say they saw it. Indefensible call on Kirby. We still probably lose that game but that was just a bad moment.

You’re hated af around here so I’m not getting lumped in with you. We’re talking about 2 different games. I think I can understand every decision Kirby has made except the FG against SC. I think that was an insane blunder and gut punch to blankeships confidence.

Well, I mean...I hear that said a lot, but what does that mean exactly? I have always wondered that, too. I mean, I guess we try to do things the "right" way, but I think most schools do. To say something is the "Georgia way" indicates we do something unique. It is a generic, catch all phrase that many people use to insinuate we do something unique to Georgia, but I am not real sure what that means.

Granted it does sound a bit chippy to say what Smart said, but I'm kind of curious about the term, too. It's kind of strange really.

Was it a bad call? Absolutely...unless it had worked.

Honest question. Was the fake punt we ran against Baylor a good call or a bad call?

Pretty much when a play works it is a great call, and when it fails miserably it is a bad call. Er can argue about the part of the game the call was made, the down and distance etc....but if it had worked (The fake against Alabama) those same circumstances would have been cited as making it a great call because they would have caught Alabama off guard.

I get it, but in Kirby's defense he could care less what Chip's job is. It is not Kirby's job to make Chip's job easier. I get why Chip Towers asks the questions, but often timing is everything. And if Chip has criticized Kirby in the past (about FOIA) then he should expect Kirby to be testy.

People seem to think can say or do anything with out repercussions.

You piss Kirby off, you go to the back of the line and stay there.

Kirby said it best, if you hate playing a certain offense, you beat the hell out of it every chance you get and you won't have to play it again.

Any scrimmage notes? Hearing Daniels had a legitimately good day but need that confirmed.

True. I mean if you think it necessary to ask a question, then ask it. But understand (in this case) that he's digging at a deep wound and Kirby is not going to be happy about it. If Chip Towers is scared of somebody getting mad at him over a question then he is in the wrong business.

Josh pate has a youtube on it. I think he is part of 247sports youtube network, but you may be able to pull him up by his old company, outkick the coverage. Doesnt say anything other than Daniels had a good day.

ugasportslive youtube pumping the offensive brakes

Pumping the brakes on the blocking schemes with OL/TE turnover.
Pumping the brakes on offensive efficiency (penalties and mistakes made by players).

Not a surprise... we are cross training the OL. Warren Ericson, Clay Webb, and Sedric Van pran all getting a chance to work with the 1s at center. A little bit surprising, Trey Hill is cross training at guard.
What are the odds that Hill could be a better guard for us than C? What are the odds that our best 5 includes someone else at C?
