What you consider an entitlement complex is what I consider reasonably high expectations.

We haven't won a natty in over 30 years. Why would any fan expect a championship like we're Alabama?
Posted on 11/29/14 at 11:39 am to FooManChoo
Because all of the resources (recruiting base, $$$$$) are there to be at that level.

So do most teams in the SEC, which is why so many MNCs have been won by the SEC in recent years.
UGA has been in contention at some point during the season just about every year for a while now. That's what the resources buy us. Winning it all takes more than that. Often times, it takes more than a great team and a great coach, too.

You guys always refer to the luck thing as to why teams win championships. I disagree. Luck plays a part of everything in life, but you have to be prepared to capitalize on it. Richt's teams haven't been that unlucky, they just haven't been prepared when the breaks came their way.

"Luck" is just as much of it as anything else.
Everyone is quick to blame the head coach when we don't win championships, as if the coach is some miracle-worker who wins and loses games by himself, but like most sports, football is a complex sport with a lot of variables that factor in to each play, each drive, each game, and each season.
Look at this game vs GT right now. Our team has been playing very well. Coaches are calling the right plays and the players are doing what they need to do except for two usually sure-handed players coughing the ball up on the 1-yard line. I can't blame those two plays on CMR, CMB, or anyone else except Chubb and Michel, who have both played very well for us so far this season. We should be up 21-7, but are tied at the half instead. Should we blame CMR for that?
It's very frustrating to fall short year after year, but that's how it is for over a hundred teams year-in and year-out. Living in a state where fans are excited about going to a bowl game has changed my view on things, and I think it's ridiculous how many fans get so irrational.

I agree that a lot of fans are irrational. I was just simply saying that bad luck isn't the only reason that Richt hasn't won a championshio, conference or national, in a while.

I agree with you there.

So yeah, about perspective and all that. That's three bed shittings in one season. Still a success?

What are you talking about?
Disney Dawgs are excited that we only lost 3 games this year! It was a success!

Sorry but I still fail to see what CMR did to blow this game. I know everyone is dogging him for the squib but I honestly don't think it was a bad call. In fact, I think it was the right one.
What lost us the game was the two fumbles by our star RBs in the first half. Everything else being equal, we still walk away with a win, even with the poor defensive showing.

Well, of course it was. We start every season with every game on the schedule being a loss. Then St. Mark will us to victory in about 9 of them. You've gotta see the forest for the trees, man!

Who's waiting? I melted eight fricking years ago and never recovered.

Absolutely, although I watched this with my daughter. If she would have preferred to do something else, I would have with no questions asked.
