For years the Hawks existed in what I call the limbo status of the league. Good enough to eek into the playoffs and then bounced in the 1st round, not bad enough to get a low lotto pick and draft a difference maker.

2 reasons to get excited this year. The team played pretty well last year including the playoffs. But the largest reason is Ferry and the coach and the direction the new regime has the franchise moving in. The team plays hard, plays smart, gets along, a lot of positives. Don't underestimate the return of Horford. Replacing 20% of your starters with your best player will also have a domino effect. Watch this team, they could surprise.
