I'm not looking for the study again but they wrote the transmission rate for asymptomatic people is 0.7% which is statistically insignificant.

Agree with what you’re saying. I haven’t seen the report since it came out. Hopefully you understand that what you’re pointing out also answers the “gotcha” question regarding the flu since Covid has an R0 value of nearly three times that of the flu. Mitigation measures that reduce transmission of either by just half drop flu well under 1, while Covid remains well over 2 (and nearly 3). Still, was their commentary not regarding specific environmental situations? I could see a lower value in some places over others.

Either way, not really here to debate Covid transmission. Just trying to help folks understand the vaccines better. Go get your antibodies retested so you know your efforts were fruitful.

We test for both flu and COVID when we test symptomatic people. I haven't seen a single flu come back positive. I don't think I've ever said the flu was just as contagious but if I did, I was definitely wrong.

Oh, not saying you have. I’ve just heard a lot of “if masks work for flu, why not Covid”, etc., etc. The two major reasons are the phenomenon of viral interference and the implementation of Covid mitigation measures (masks, distancing, better attention to hygiene, etc.) that cut into the R0 value for both. Flu being much less contagious, it gets cut down below “1.00” pretty easily. Covid still has an infection rate well above that number even with mitigation in place, so you continue to see cases in spite of those measures.

Anyway, wasn’t singling you out on that, so my apologies if it was interpreted that way.

It's unavoidable in big cities. Masks don't do enough of you're constantly on top of people.

I can agree with that.
