Wrong. I’ve posted this a couple times as well. US first case was confirmed Jan 20. First confirmed cases in Italy were 2 Chinese tourists on Jan 31.....The same day we banned travel from China btw

This is the most encouraging thing I've seen. I hope it's not an anomaly.

Wait...what disease do you advocate them to start running sims on right now? Corona was not heard of in October of 2019. Are you saying Trump is responsible for running sims on every unknown disease anybody can imagine?
How about every single terrorist possibility?
Every financial disaster possibility?
Every kind of natural disaster possibility?
The Corona Virus....Wuhan Flu...Covid-19...whatever you want to call it was totally unknown in October 2019, but you think Trump should have been prepared for it?
I am going to make a wild guess here.......were you as upset and critical of Obama for not running sims and being prepared for the Swine Flu of 2009-2010?
By the World Health Organization's official tally, the flu pandemic of 2009-10 killed 18,449 people around the world. Those are deaths of people who had laboratory-confirmed cases of the so-called swine flu.
But a fresh analysis says the real toll was 10 times higher — up to 203,000 deaths. And maybe it was twice that, if you count people who died of things like heart attacks precipitated by the flu.

Only 46 deaths yesterday as the active cases start to tick upwards now that we are testing. Still not testing anyone thats had it and recovered or anyone not going to get tested because they dont have many symptoms...Sounds familiar, huh

meanwhile, 7,556 people died in the US yesterday from other things....and another 7,600 will die today and tomorrow and so on..and guess what, most of them are elderly or people that have preexisting conditions

A week before Trump’s inauguration the Obama administration ran a flu pandemic simulation as part of the transition. Two thirds of the Trump staff who participated are no longer working in the administration.

That extraordinary turnover in the months and years that followed is likely one reason his administration has struggled to handle the very real pandemic it faces now, former Obama administration officials said.
Well there's a fricking surprise...
Interesting, in the study, it says travel advisory, but no ban. Interesting they shite on Trump, yet he banned travel with China when only 2 people in the US were infected (both traveled to China) and before he heard of the first 2 cases in Italy (which were 2 Chinese tourists)

Can you please explain what Trump has done wrong? I want to understand why 1M Americans have died from this outbreak and why Trump hasn't done anything

Interesting tidbit from the WSJ regarding the diamond princess cruise ship

Of the 634 passengers and crew members on the cruise who tested positive for the virus, slightly more than half didn’t have symptoms, officials said at the time.

Okay. Are you saying that a simulation was run? I mean, if so, then what is the complaint? I mean, I get that many that participated in the simulation are no longer in the administration, but the results would be on record. the results would not be lost.
That said, I will say that you cannot be prepare for every single negative thing that can happen. It is impossible to prepare for everything because of all the variables.
Seems odd that one of the most vocal critics of the Trump administration has come out complimenting the response by the administration, and some are still wanting to point fingers.
Maybe if Obama had prepared for the Swine Flu the results of it would not have been as devastating?

By the way....from your link:
“The advantage we had under Obama was that during the first four years we had the same White House staff, the same Cabinet,” said former deputy labor secretary Chris Lu, who attended the gathering. “Just having the continuity makes all the difference in the world.”
Swine flu has caused nearly 10,000 deaths in the United States, part of an outbreak that has infected about 50 million Americans, government health officials said Thursday. The deaths as of mid-November included about 1,100 children and 7,500 younger adults, said Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I guess it's a good thing the Obama administration had a huge advantage, huh?
Gee, imagine former Obama administration members criticizing the handling of this crises while their own administration seemed blissfully unaware of their own crises.

Now that test kits are widely available, why are states and municipalities still restricting who gets tested to just the very sick?
Good question, but Unsure what exactly the Restrictions are, and where that is taking place. We know there is a massive delay in getting results, so obviously they don’t want to make the traffic jam even bigger. We needed rapid AND mass testing capabilities in February.

It was a sim of the exact situation we are currently in, a respiratory virus pandemic.
