It’s way too early in the game for you to be doing a victory dance. There has been an uptick in flu Neg flu like symptoms recently, which is a warning. Hospitals have been readied for an impending Tsunami, which has been a massive undertaking.

I know this isnt a thread for jokes but.. But anyone else thoroughly, soulfully enjoyed watching the 1000s of allegedly nouveau riche internet slugs on here line up like picnic ants to grovel over their $1000 trump check

Im sure most of them will just use it for some johnny walker blue and a couple cigars, but still

DJ, can you go ahead and put a RACI together for me on all this. I need that by EOD please.

In the meantime lets assess what we've learned in the last two days-

1 of 5 tests come back positive in GA.

All of the deaths so far, where details were released, are elderly and/or diabetic, or other "underlying health issues" which can mean alot, reporting is wonky and unreliable at this point, in my opinion.

There's also apparently something else going around...

80% of people getting tested are negative, but still have symptoms, many hospitalized, and presumably tested neg for flu or strep. Hinesville's son, for instance... negative on all three but still got pneumonia. What other diseases are out there messing people up that we have no idea about?

12 mail carriers (I haven't confirmed this, but was reported here) in Albany. Thousands of mailboxes and tens of thousands of potentially contaminated mail.

My conclusion has not changed. This has been and will continue to be everywhere. Summer might suppress it temporarily, but maybe not. It's here to stay and it's everywhere. Protect the vulnerable, and lets get back to normal life.

Choice-Supportive Bias

This is a well-known phenomenon, most commonly displayed when you read online reviews of products. People trick themselves into thinking they made the right choice even if they didn't. The thing they just bought is the greatest one.

This also applies to CV hoarding and quarantine. People will push for further quarantine and lockdown simply to support their choices to hoard things and justify their initial fears and uncertainties, even as numbers will become apparent that none of it is necessary.

Discuss among yourselves.

We're about to hit up the crappie hole. Busting out the sunscreen for the first time this year to protect myself from the big corona in the sky that kills hundreds of thousands every year. If all goes well, fried crappie poboys for supper. If not, then screamin' sicilian.

I understand both perspectives. I think it is just too early to know. If everything about how contagious this is is true and looking at what is happening in Italy, trying to slow the growth is wise. And say what you want about demographics and the Italian health system, it doesn't change the fact that their death rate is spiking and is almost at 10%, and, this is the more worrisome part, now their doctors and nurses are getting sick because of the lack of the right protective equipment and being overworked and overtired. Being overworked and overtired leads to mistakes and sloppiness that compound things.

Any size can be eaten. I prefer them 9 inches and up, you get more meat out of them, same amount of work to clean little ones as it is big ones, so the bigger the better.

The small ones can be culled as catfish bait or you can clean them too, some people will just scale them, cut the head off, rip the guts out, and eat the little ones whole, including the fins. Some say the fried crappie fins are the best part. I haven't done it that way. I like nice clean boneless skinless filets because I'm a city slicker.

So what say you that American contraction is under 20% based on all testing today + results and the fact that our death rate is getting closer to 1%? Now they want to halt testing in the largest 2 liberal cities in the US because it might impact these ratios??? Tests are becoming WAAAAY more readily available every day, but they want to halt them unless a specific doctor thinks it would change the treatment.....THINK ABOUT THAT

looking at what is happening in Italy

We have been over this a million times with charts on immigration, population density, lack of healthcare, sanitation, etc etc.

Come on people, think for yourselves and stop the media propaganda

The FDA just approved a test that can give results in 45-minutes....

This will not feed the narrative of the socialists and POS mayors that now don’t want to test people....

Even CNN has to report on it
