China's Pinky and the Brain:
-Find a virus in bats that cannot be spread to humans
-Genetically alter that virus with HIV and SARS to give it the weapons it needs to attach humans
- Release it in your own country and subdue knowledge to give it time to spread worldwide
- Blame it on the food market that is next door to your biological weapon factory
- Suddenly show a tremendous ability to minimize new cases in China
- Watch it destroy the US economy and hopefully harm the re-elections of a guy who is routinely bending you over the table on trade
- Wait a few months, then miraculously find a vaccine
- Sell the vaccine to the world for trillions
- Rinse and repeat

Yeah. People still get sick from stuff other than the 'rona. It's obviously slow but we still do surgery and endoscopy and all kinds of stuff. Cancer patients still need radiation and chemo. Less people are getting hurt in accidents which is nice.

New York had stockpiles of ventilators and turned around and auctioned them off. But hey...Bloomberg probably made some money off of it, so who cares? NY can now ask the federal government for their stockpile and then blame Trump if he refuses to give them their every wish.
I am guessing you are upset and will point fingers at Bloomberg, and NYC for selling their stockpiles, too?

I'm not sure that China's numbers are on the level. We can't completely rely on ours either.
The Stanford epidemiologist that SneakyWaffles touts wrote that our testing is so deficient that we can't know how deeply the virus has spread.
We've just never responded like we should have. China has reopened Wuhan so they must be in pretty good shape. The US situation is terrible and we still aren't responding as we should.

Does China have stuff that we need?
Does India have stuff that we need?
Does Canada and Mexico have stuff that we need?
Does Japan and Germany have stuff that we need?
We import the most goods in the world.
We import about the same amount as the #3, #4, and #5 top importers in the world combined.
If our government forces a US first philosophy on trade (P!), we could be fricked over by the same practices by other countries during this crisis.
I dont think you can look forward more than 5 minutes into the future.
China hoards and they are the devil. But you cheer the same practices for the US? Hypocrite much?

And vice versa. We are China's #1 Custamah.
But this should certainly bring alot of manufacturing back to the US for many things. Not all things, hell not even most things, but alot of things. And this is very very good for our economy. And national security. It's something Trump (and many conservatives before him) have been trying to get done for a long time, and now they've got enough buy-in from across the aisle to get it done. I hope.

I am specifically talking about this current situation. Knowing we were already short of needed PPE, you damn sure don’t send a lot of it away 6 weeks before you need it for yourself. That’s completely irresponsible.
