That’s what makes this so difficult to deal with. We don’t know exactly why. Plenty of theories that will take time to prove one way or the others. Idiots like Idiot Trumper, deep rig and trump don’t want to buy time to figure that out before opening back up.

Treating the cause of pneumonia generally helps and maybe since this isn't something that we're able to effectively treat in some populations, those people die.

Monday 3/30: estimate of US COVID-19 deaths, even with mitigation measures: 200,000
Friday 4/3: updated projection of US deaths: 111,000
Monday 4/6: downgraded to 93,521
Tuesday 4/7: downgraded to 81,766
TODAY 4/8: downgraded to 60,000
So clearly this will not be even remotely Spanish Flu 1917-1919 (675,000 US deaths out of a population of only 100 million; equivalent to 2.2 million deaths in today's population).
Question: At what number of deaths would this be declared the 5 trillion dollar nothing burger?

You people and your apples to oranges comparisons. Get it together.

DJ, I have a doosey for you.. remember earlier asking me for a link about how doctors make the cause of death for pnuemonia during flu season? Here's a dr in minnesota who says exactly how they do it, and it is 100% consistent with what I said earlier.
So here's your link... a youtube link from a local Minnesota news station...

I'm just comparing the probable death tolls of those two pandemics. A couple of weeks ago, there were serious predictions that 250,000 to 400,000 Americans might die even with mitigation strategies, and up to 2 million if we did nothing at all.
Just sayin'...the current pandemic might have been a smidge overblown, relative to the hysteria, media hype, and dire predictions.

No, I'm much more conscious of my gloved hands. It's not usual. There is a constant reminder.

I watch people touch everything with their gloves in our hospital. Then touch their face. Or their drinks. Or their phones. Or any number of things they'll then touch without gloves.

Question for docs...
The pulmonary, cardio, obesity underlying conditions, all lead to one common result of less efficient distribution of oxygen in the blood. I understand that much. CV attacks that exchange in the lungs, so I see how that makes you more succeptible to bad outcome.
What is it about diabetes that also causes this, or is it only with diabetics that have the obesity kind of diabetes?
I have friends who are diabetic, but they aren't obese. They are like Shelby in Steel Magnolias.
Are those people also just as fricked as the fat diabetics when it comes to CV?

Take them off and toss them in a bag and put them in your trunk if you have to but once you get in your car or house if they’re still on then any point of wearing them is moot at that point.

Those people routinely wear gloves. I don't. When I have gloves on I'm conscious of the peril every minute. Without gloves I might be thinking about something just said on Finebaum or anything else.

I wear disposable gloves routinely regardless of the Coronavirus. I get painful splits in my fingers from dry skin, whatever so I wear gloves for every kind of work around the house. I wash my hands with soap and water with the gloves on. It's actually easily than washing bare hands because the gloves don't have cracks and crevices like hands.

Actually, I am, too. I never realized how often I touched my mouth and face before Corona. Now that I wear gloves when I pump gas (Get out of car, put on gloves ,pump gas, take gloves off and dispose in trash receptacle at pump, get back in car) I saw that I would reach up to scratch my nose, etc....with the gloves on I am more conscious and can resist the urge to touch my face.
It's crazy how often we touch our faces without realizing it.

I think you missed the point. Everything you touched while you had the gloves on is now infected. Your house car etc. Unless you changed your gloves after each item you touched you will continue to spread it the virus. The easy solution is to wash your hands often.
The current thought on masks is not to prevent the spread nor prevent catching it via airborne transmission. The mask is a deterrent to touching your face which is how the vast majority of the infections start. Airborne transmission exists but it's a low probability unless you spend a long time with an infected person in a confined location, like family or coworkers.

Explination of the how covid functions and how the body reacts.
Sorry Whiznot your link was basic with no explanations. This is a better summary of how it affects the body.

How dare you say that!!!! You are still comparing Orange man to apples. This pandemic would have killed 2.2M Americans had we done nothing!!!! You have to believe DoesntknowJackShit and Whiznutjob!!! They were even saying this past weekend it was still going to kill 500,000. Athens-Ga has disappeared cause he said this was still just getting started a couple days ago.
You see, these people just want to shite all over Trump and hate America. They want to be socialists and cried yesterday when Bernie tapped out. They love it down in their butt-buddy bunker together and want you and I to fund it for them.
I tried to ask earlier what would make this not worth what Trump has done, but never got an answer. This weekend, when we are on the other side of the flattened curve thanks to Trump, I will be being back some gems from earlier in this thread. Of course, the butt bunker buddies will just move their goal posts again.....but they will have to decide one of two things.
Either Trump did an amazing job and prevented millions of people from dying like they alll hoped for and predicted, or it was completely overblown to begin with and Trump was right in his early actions before the left and media started touting some made up models by epidemiologists who were getting their jollies off by some new bug that will kill less than a bad flu season
