Central BBQ - Central Avenue, Memphis, a bit west of the Liberty Bowl. That is the original location. Line is out the door everyday. It is count. The hot BBQ sauce is not too good, everything else is.

This is my number 2 - The Commissary - Germantown, TN right east of Memfrica.

Any place that gives you a deviled egg for the hell of it is OK by me.

Dallas, im pretty sure one of those is a strip joint.

And by strip joint, i mean getting your penis gummed and spat upon by a toothless woman in the shadow of a generator at the ATT data center down by the river.

Or maybe Im thinking of a different iron horse in douglas?

Second this. Rooters was my spot. The pulled pork and ribs were good, loved the smoked pheasant on Saturdays, and the cabbage casserole and spicy bean salad were amazing sides. Just a bad spot for them.

10 years or so ago it used to be a Country bar...

We did have this place out this way at one time, it's a Skinhead/KKK/Biker/Oyster bar now... Google it & go look at the photos page on their facebook page.....

I'm hoping Saucehouse may be able to step up to the plate and up the game around town

I hope so too. This guy is a fraternity brother of mine and doesn't really need the money so I hope he doens't half arse it. He's a Belk, as in the bowl game we just played in.

But another good place is Southern Soul on SSI as well as Walls BBQ and Tricks BBQ in Savannah. Walls is in a back alley that's tough to find even for locals. Tricks is a smoker set up in a car detail shop only on Thursday-Sunday.

I haven't tried that one... my go-to inside the perimiter is Community BBQ on Clairmont Rd, and everything I've had there is top shelf.

Is DBA better than Community? Their prices online are a little high, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if you get what you pay for.

The last time I had Community I got sick as a dog. My GF did too. And I convinced her to go over Fox Bros... Definitely looked like a horses arse.

Give DBA a try
