I have had some pain develop and believe it may be a hernia...any advice from those who have expereinced this?...i know "go to the doctor"...and I will if it gets worse, but just wondering if yall have any first hand knowledge here...im 32 and pretty active...nothing protruding yet as I can see...its right above my junk and off to the side a bit...doctor awhile back ago...(2 years maybe)...said I was susceptible to it on my physical and that I should be mindful..but didnt daignose it at the time...TIA

Yes, actually ended up getting 2 a few years ago when I was very active working out and playing several sports 6 days a week (also 32 at the time oddly enough). I got a CT scan to confirm. I really only noticed pain from it while doing bench but eventually it just got worse and needed surgery. It won't go away on it's own unfortunately so go let a doc take a look. If it's confirmed they'll let you know if you need surgery right away to repair.

Thats a bad spot to have an intestinal hernia, as soon as it goes septic you could be dead in 24 hours and you wouldnt necessarily feel any additional pain to tip you off. You probably think im kidding...

I haven't but a close friend did. They patched him up on an outpatient basis with some kind of mesh inserted in his abdominal wall....and it pinched a little here and there afterward by now he's good as new.

He had the procedure the Wed before the Masters so he could fully utilize his time off. You missed that...but there are a couple of more majors coming up.

Get it checked out...

Hernias are generally palpable. On a scale of 0-10 what would you say your pain is?

If it is a hernia the main thing that I would worry about is if it were strangulated. This is where the blood becomes cut off and it is fatal, but you would also be in alot of pain if that were to happen. It's hard to give you an honest assessment when I can't physically assess you. But it does sound like that it could be a hernia given the area you are describing. I would get it checked out. Hope this helps.
