Tony Barnhart, aka “Mr. College Football,” was asked about Auburn’s game plan for Saturday’s showdown by DawgNation Daily’s Brandon Adams:

“To me, the play-calling by Georgia is going to be fascinating because every coach I’ve talked to says the same thing about Georgia: I may get beat by Georgia, but I’m not going to let No. 7 (running back D’Andre Swift) beat me,” said Barnhart, the longtime college football reporter who works with ESPN’s SEC Network and TMGcollegesports.com.

“If No. 11 (Fromm) can beat me throwing the ball, then I’m going to have to live with that. But I’m not going to let No. 7 beat me. That’s what I hear time after time when I talk to coaches about Georgia.”

Not surprising mindset. Fromm needs to show out and keep the offense in rhythm

Pretty sad considering Fromm’s a 3 year starter.

Yeah, sucks when your 3-year starter has one injury-prone guy to throw to.

Opposing coaches have had that same mindset since Hutson Mason was a senior.

I mean, he’s completing 67% of his passes, avg over 200 yards, hasn’t thrown an int except for in 1 game, has young WRs on a team built for rushing attack.....think he’s doing just fine

Fine isn't going to win us anything worth talking about, like another SEC title, much less a national title. We'll just waste a ridiculous amount of talent like we've done the last two decades.

You are ridiculous. We aren’t wasting talent. We had all our good receivers leave last year. We are in a transition year with our receiving corps. It is unfortunate, but it isn’t some sort of mismanagement or waste.

it's not really a huge indictment on fromm that teams want to stop our best player. it's also easier to "control" or focus on stopping a running back than stopping a quarterback.

That would be the gameplan no matter who the QB is.

GA is run first, and the offense is built on that. Take away what the opponent wants to do.

Amen. Replace that 7 with 3, 4, 27, 1, or 13.

Dude, I want to win a national title. I'm not interested in 10-2 with arguably the most talented roster in the country.

All UGA fans want this.

What I don’t want is for fans to speak irrationally or ignorantly because of their frustration in the team not winning championships or struggling along the way.

Identify root cause before assigning blame.

Stopped reading

Barnhart is a very good writer and good at gathering information but when it comes to any type of analysis he is the last person
I listen except for Brandon Adams of course.
