Maybe that's what Kirby was looking for to see Carson take ownership of it and call the timeout.

I’m not saying 100% he doesn’t throw a pick if we take a timeout but we could have easily just played our offense down the field. And maybe Beck doesn’t force a throw into coverage like that.

You don’t want to take a chance on giving Ole Miss ANY time left to score before half. We stopped their drive and we are going to get the ball first after half. Kirby wanted to run as much time off as he could and possibly score if we can.

I don’t doubt that. I just think there are more effective ways we could have done that very thing, using the timeout.
