These players didn't make the trip to Arkansas. Was it due to injury or something else? Taken from Seth Emerson's article this morning.

There were some notable names who didn’t make the trip: Outside linebackers Walter Grant, Robert Beal and MJ Sherman, placekicker Jared Zirkel, receivers Tommy Bush, Makiya Tongue and Trey Blount.

Probably either grades or some kind of suspension if it’s not rona related. Just haven’t heard their names mentioned on any recent injury reports

We have a ton of guys ahead of them.
Grant was the sam starter last season.
Anderson has overtaken him right now.
Stevenson is the choice when we want a little more of a DB/LB hybrid.

And we are going to do everything possible to get Smith, Ojulari, and Johnson as many reps as possible in the game.

I'm a little surprised the OLB didnt travel. But then again, we need to heavy on OL and DB every week. Those spots will take a priority on road trips.

Very telling that Jaylen Johnson, a walk on, traveled and these guys did not.

Grant was the one that stands out the most of all those listed.

That's a lot of talent we left in
Athens.

This is kind of concerning if all these guys were just beat out for PT especially Bush.I was hoping he'd make some type of impact this year.

Yikes

Edit: was it them not picking up the playbook as quickly, injuries, effort, not as talented as we thought?

SVPG was the only freshman on the oline to travel. Webb is banged up and stayed back as well.

Mostly going to be on special teams imo.
JRob, Burton and Rosemy jumped all of these guys.

I had Jermaine Johnson as the first option for Sam and Grant as the second option in my preseason depth chart guess. I had Adam Anderson 3rd.

It's not a package that we use heavily.
But I was happy to see Anderson stepping up against Arkansas.

But a walk-on traveled and they did not. Is that a compliment to the walk-on or concern about those guys being relegated to STs?

Johnson sounds like he has finally put all the pieces together. Hate that for Grant though.

Johnson had good camp.

Bush, Tongue, and Blount-
Would put them in that order as far as depth, with Blount being likely to get the most ST action.

Basically the 3 freshman (Burton, JRob, and Rosemy) jumped them. Bush could see some snaps tomorrow.

Eta- For those not familiar with Johnson, he along with Brini, were the ones that helped the little girl out at Subway a few months back lol

What happened at Subway? She couldn't reach the cool ranch doritos at the top of the rack?

Something like that. Subway staff wouldn't let the little girl use the restroom without making a purchase, so they bought her something.

Walter Grant
Someone asked Kirby about Grant at a press conference. Kirby said something along the lines of Grant needs to show he can contribute before he'll be able to play.

7:28ish in this press conference.
