I've attended their summer workouts but that's it.

Question for the board:
Has anyone ever actually attended a Georgia football workout? Do you know the exercises the players are doing? Do you know what their diets are (I know they had a program change when we brought on a staff of dietitians a few years ago that monitored their diets pretty close)?
It just seems like there are people on this board who complain about it being old school when you probably have no idea what they're doing.
Quite true. It would be interesting to see how our routines, techniques and diets compare to winning programs like Alabama. Honestly it seems to me that our program should be focused on injury avoidance as much as anything.
A good example might be Gurley's ankle injury which actually happened out of bounds vs LSU. Maybe instead of fighting tooth and nail with defenders hanging all over you, it might be wise just to get what you can up the sideline and go out of bounds. Same thing plowing up the middle. With the weight of several defenders against you heck just go down and secure the ball. Pushing against that much weight can't be good for knees and ankles. And how many times have we seen a ball get stripped after a runner gets corralled by several defenders? Missouri was so good at this last season it's like they must practice holding up the runner upright while the designated stripper rips the ball out.

So much dumbass spilled on this thread...
I retract my statement based on Buck's comments.
I now think we are the best conditioned, least injury prone program in the nation.

I guess that's kind what I was trying to do with posting the Stanford videos etc. You can kind of draw comparisons from our video, to some of the other programs around the country. No, I have never been to UGA workout but any novice fan can see the results on the field.
Football strength does not come from just being able to lift a car. It comes from having strength in leverage. Being strong when you are low, is different from being strong when standing up. So, training to get stronger in leverage skills makes teams like Stanford appear stronger, because they focus on leverage in S&C. Just like a wrestler beating a stronger opponent. They use technique and leverage as their strength, not strong like benching a car.
Strength in balance prevents non-contact knee injuries, like JSW and MM. 99% of non-contact ACL tears come from making a cut and landing wrong. Balance is key, because it teaches players to land properly and cut properly. They can make a hard cut or leap over a defender, without landing wrong and causing damage. It's just like throwing a cat in the air and them landing on their feet. It comes for the extraordinary balance.

I wish we did something like Auburn. Like hire tons of consultants/analyst to evaluate where we need to improve.

We hired a number of consultants as well. Next?
