Tech got away with a lot of holds and NC State made the Tech QB look pretty good. Tech also got away with a push off and a targeting and still were a few inches away from losing to a bad team.
I always want Tech to lose, but probably for the best for our SOS. The Tech team that played tonight is not hanging with us. Im sure they will be more inspired for us though.

I'm actually glad they won. Don't need them coming off a loss going into COFH

His shoulder is dead. When he comes in everyone knows he's not going to throw. Too many times he played on 1st down last night, and we all knew it would be for no gain. Might as well just take a knee on those plays.

I hate it for him, because he's been a warrior. But he can't do it right now, and towards the end of the game the coaches finally figured it out.

Always the same logic from fans; we can see the obvious before our coach figures it out. If King's shoulder is bad, your coaches would have known that beforehand. Maybe he was re-injured during the game. Maybe the freshman can only execute a small fraction of the playbook. Maybe King is not as badly damaged as it seems.

Whatever the case last night, my uninformed guess is that King will start and play most of the game against Georgia.

I think GT thought they could run the 11 man run game on NC State. Give NC State credit for not letting them..

Does not bode well for GT next week because they will not be able to run the ball

This being the last game of the season and a loss likely takes you out of the playoffs. Kirby is going to have these guys ready to roll

Maybe that was the plan. The way they used King is still a bit odd to me. They repeatedly called what looked like designed runs, several times straight into the teeth of the defense. If I'm a junior quarterback with an injured throwing shoulder, not sure I'd want to play that role. And I'm not sure why the coach would use an injured starting quarterback that way, especially in a game that's basically meaningless. Maybe Haynes King is calling it quits after this season.

Philo will be Tech’s hope next week

I watched him play a good bit in high school. He didn’t get the hype that Vandergriff did, but he appeared to have more fight in him.

He has looked beat up for two weeks, has a limp and looks like a guy trying not to lose his starting job and rehab his injury

IMO he lost his job and probably will transfer out

NC State put up 400 yards of offense and had 3 TO's and still should have walked it off in the end with a FG.

They did this on Tech's field

I am not sure how much time Philo is going to have to throw the ball

He broke every state high school passing record.

Kid can play.

He made some nice throws and has decent mobility. Didn’t have a lot of pressure which helped him.
