The Film Guy is pretty damn positive we will see Muschamp with a much larger role and back on the sidelines Saturday. Would not be a bad thing.

I think Schu is smart and talented but if I had to guess I'd bet he is overcomplicating shite. Not on purpose but by trying to dot every "I" and cross every "t" he is making these athletic dudes think instead of react

Could see Mudchsmp being great and simplifying the gameplan and letting the boys be athletes

Offensive coaches have learned you can take away a defensive team’s aggression and athleticism by lots of pre snap movements and motion. It’s like the best of wing T and option, but out of more of a pro/ spread offense. Having a good line and some athletes makes it harder. Texas does it. We do it. Having a QB that can run between the tackles adds a difficult addition to it. The thing with running QBs like that is they take a lot of shots. They don’t make many like that.
These offenses have to live in 2nd and 5 as when they become more predictable, it helps the pass rush.

One thing I feel like we can assess from the season is Smart has wanted us to establish the run early. Every game. We haven’t done a great job at it. Throw in drops and missed blocks and we don’t get first downs. The other team gets more possessions and can stay on their schedule. In turn, when we have to open it up, we usually can. I think Beck is the least of our worries. The two things that stick out to me are the Oline and what seem to be the absolute worst timing in drops.

The O line has had injuries and a lack of continuity with all the shuffling. This hurt us with runs and especially longer developing pass plays. The line appears to be in the best shape of the year from a continuity standpoint.

If they can take some pressure off the defense, we can play better complementary football.

The drops and missed reads by receivers have fricking killed us this year. Literally lost us games.

On the original subject, can Muschamp move to DC next year or is he still on the payroll at USC?

He was Co DC the last 2 years so I don't see why not.

I think it has something to do with Compensation but I honestly don’t know how that works to comment

Well, he might have still been on the USC payroll in 22 and 23 when he was CO DC was my point.
