You can easily argue both ways.
As it happens, Mullen made the right call because in 23 seconds Trask was able to put Florida in position to tie the game with a shorter FG than what LSU made.
But to me I would bet that there was a greater chance of LSU's kicker missing a rushed 57 yard kick compared to Florida getting into FG range after the kickoff with less than 23 seconds to work with.

Had LSU missed the 57 yard FG Florida would have had the ball at midfield with 23 seconds on the clock and 2 times out. Two decent pass completions would give them a 1st down in the red zone. A run would spot the ball where the kicker wanted it. Chip shot instead of a 51 yarder.

The last 3 minutes of that game redeemed and saved the entire miserable 2020 season imo. We needed something absurd like that to happen big time to remind why this is still the best sport of all

I didn't DVR the uf game, only ours. I see no gifs on secr. If you know of a galore of them, can you please share?

Absolutely. It was a great sense in almost every sense of the word. From the weird interception near the beginning of the game to the thrown shoe near the end.
