Seemed like all year we had trouble getting on track and sustaining momentum.

It didn't seem like the Dawgs were able to put together a complete four quarter game. Flashes of great play but it wasn't being sustained.

(i.e. slow starts - missed tackles - turnovers - dropped passes. - missed blocks - etc.)

Even though we ended up winning the SEC Championship, did this team come anywhere near reaching its full potential?
Or was it simply the best we could do?

Just ok at stopping the run and pathetic at running the ball. Most drops in the country by WRs. Played good team in CFP with a QB in his first start.

It was a flawed team.

We were pretty bad on 3rd downs on both sides of the ball, especially on offense. Our O-line was up and down all year long, but they were never particularly good at run blocking. Our WRs have bricks for hands and are apparently really bad at getting separation. Our special teams were pretty spotty outside of the kickers. Our tackling was surprisingly poor for a Kirby Smart defense. We started out slow on offense in almost every game this year. Given all of this, it's honestly remarkable we managed to win the SEC. One of the more bizarre seasons that I can recall.

The offense had too many drive killing plays this season. That hurt our momentum.

Our defense played well enough to win most games.
Offense was bad. We had 62 rushing yards. Stockton was -23 and Riley Leonard the ND QB had 80 yards rushing.

Turnovers kill. We had 3 fumbles and lost 2 of them. One gave ND a cheap TD with 35 seconds left in the 1st half and the other killed a possible TD deep in the redzone.

Special teams were bad. You can't give up a TD on a kickoff in defensive struggle type game.

Bottom line: ND was the better team and would probably beat our team again if we played them again.
