It doesn't look like White is the guy. He seems like a solid coach but it seems the task at hand is too heavy(trying to rebuild a big SEC school basketball program). As noted, the SEC is not an easy place to win. We need a coach who can make an impact like Harrick. The only guy I can think of in that category is Pitino and no way does Brooks hire a guy with Petino's record.

Depth and quality of players. Some of the transfers didn’t hold up their end of the bargain too.

The SEC hoops schedule is always a grind. I recall Fox having a lot of good starts then we faded out in the SEC season. There's a lot of parity, physical teams, and it's usually very tough on the road. You pretty much have to win 75% of your home games to ensure a winning SEC season.
