Bobo also didn't have the luxury of defenses that shut down opponents and gave him the ball back in good field positions, and three and outs to give us extra possessions.

Just say no no to Bobo. Monken has the ability to incorporate the TE into his offense.

Bobo is a lifelong Richt disciple. That offense could not get the TE the ball.

The real question is, does Bobo have the ability?

It’s one thing to dream this stuff up on your own and another to learn from watching somebody who is doing it. Surely Bobo with his background could’ve learned the ins and outs of the system. The question is does he have the toolbox to make adjustments mid game to what we’re seeing defensively and the ability to change the offense to suit the personnel.

We may not want the same system in 2 years when we don’t have the same TE’s on the field.

this is exactly the shite I'm talking about.

1) Bobo is 8 years removed from coaching with richt. in that time he's been a head coach over a program and been at 2 other SEC schools. Not to mention the tail end of his career here the reigns were off and he was running more of "his" offense opposed to the early days which was richt's. There is nothing in bobo's brain going "MUST.RECREATE.RICHT.OFFENSE.FROM.2006".

2) "That offense" early on was a prostyle I-Formation system that was very, very different that CFB today. It's ludcirous to suggest Bobo would run that same offense in today's world

3) Perhaps if he had a fricking BROCK BOWERS back in those days we would've gotten more balls to the tight end. I susepct that watching the Martrez Milner's of the world drop everythign thrown their way may have discouraged him from using the position more. And Orson Chalres got plenty of balls btw. Also it wasn't until we had Brock that we really, truly started going there more often. In fact let's take a look.

Orson Charles's final year: 45 catches for 574, 5 TDs

Isaac NAuta's best year at UGA: 30 catches for 430, 3 TDs
Charlie Woerner's best: 11 catches for 148 yards, 0 TDs
Fitzpatrick's best: 10 cathces for 95 yards, 1 TD
Darnell's best: 28 catches for 454 yards, 2 TDs

So from this we can gather:

1) Kirby has never gotten the TE thte ball until 2 seasons ago
2) Having a megaelite talent at a position will make you more likely to utilize that position. Surely Bobo can crack this code.

because his 1-year stints as playcaller at utterly shittastic schools with lame duck head coaches and mediocre talent don't really factor into UGA,

You are what your complete body of work says that you are. After UGA, Bobo has accomplished frick-all nothing, and left programs in worse shape that when he arrived.

That's not hate, that is fact. I'd agree that he was just one component in some of that, but Colorado State was all Bobo.

These threads are off season fodder and serve no purpose but to speculate and create arguments (unless one is naive enough to expect nothing but "rah rah sis boom bah" from the rant) on a hot button issue.

Whatever Kirby decides is what I ride with, but until he makes Bobo the OC, Bobo is what his complete body of work shows him to be.

Nobody is beating down Kirby's fricking door to interview Bobo.

Not how coaching works, Philly wrote off Reed, Cleveland Belichek, its rare for any coach to only have an upward trajectory without bumps. No one would have thought Saban would do what he did after MSU or Miami.

I feel bad for Bobo if he does end up being the OC because the fanbase already mostly dislikes him

Too funny. As if the bulk of our fanbase has anything but the shittiest instincts imaginable on who they “like”.

You can set your watch by this kind of thing. If they hate Bobo, it means he is the right man for the job

I hate a lot of people as OC, so UGA will have plenty of "right m(e)n for the job" from wich to pull applicants.

Kirby can't lose!
