Wtf Kirby???

“Lanning said the time difference has allowed him to focus on Georgia's CFP preparations early in the day, then on building a coaching staff, recruiting class and roster at Oregon at night. ”

Is Kirby trying to lose? We know this almost never works out.

he's not coaching oregon, so this is a bit overblown. If he does UGA prep from 6am-3pm (idk this, just throwing out numbers) he's done at noon pacific time. It's not like he can't text some recruits or reahc out to potential assistant coaches during that time.

But I do agree the double duty rarely seems to work out great.

Hence why he’s only coaching OLBs and helping with gameplanning. Kirby wisely removed his coordinating responsibilities. I’m not concerned about this particular detail.

Yea he may still be here coaching, but I’d say Schu and Boom have taken over the coordinator responsibilities.

"We'll operate very similar to the way we've operated all season," Lanning said. "I'll still be making the calls, but every single one of our defensive coaches have been extremely involved throughout the week, throughout our preparation, and this has been a team effort. It's been a team effort all season. That doesn't change for just this one game“

Doesn’t sound like he gave up coordinator responsibility.

Still a massive distraction for the team, even of its a demotion of responsibilities.

Then why even do it?

We have become a nation of hand wringing neurotic worry warts. People are addicted to freaking out over every little thing.

This seems like a big thing considering it usually contributes to a loss in a big bowl game.

While Lanning was out interviewing the week of the SECG, it could have factored in to the defensive play calling as well, which seems to be his role.

Yea I saw this just now. Definitely not the way I took the original statements a couple weeks ago. Made it seem like Schuman and Muschamp were taking over those duties immediately. Either way. I’m not that worried. Our defense is our defense. It’s full of veteran guys in leadership positions. Nakobe at Mike. Cine at safety. JD and Wyatt. I’m still not worried. If we lose we lose but I won’t attribute much to this.

It worked well for Kriby when he did it.

Not so much for Lanning if he half asses it like he did the week of the SECCG.

What's released publicly and what's done privately are two different things.

I don't think I've ever seen a coach put out less information about his team/program

You can't even get an accurate
2 deep chart from em before games.

Came in to say this

If anyone knows how to pull off the balancing act, it's Kirby. He'll tell Lanning to frick off if he notices he's not meeting the job standards for the Dawgs

That was a Saban coached team (the greatest coach in CFB history). Apples and Oranges.
