Not that it relates but gives my family some perspective

He was traveling with his 13 year daughter to a travel basketball game.

We just got back from Kennessaw with our 13 year old daughter at her travel softball event..

Just reminds me to be thankful for what god blesses me personally with each day. Another day with my family....

? James 4:14 ?

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

This is a pretty big shock to me because he was the biggest name on the planet when I was a kid. Everyone wanted to be Kobe and most still do. Hell how many people shout "Kobe" before taking a shot in basketball? I know I still do that shite

I thought that Lebron Dude was the new stud to replace Jordan.
Well, glad he was not guilty, my opinion of him was lost in time i guess. After reading some of the articles on the crash it certainly is a very sad deal.

Somebody can correct me on this. But the details I remember are loosely this: Kobe was in Colorado and took some young white girl back to his room. It was a romantic evening and at some point he stuffed her in the 2 hole. She claims she told him no. Tests showed she had four different dudes semen in her

So, sure. he raped her

He was a very great athlete, one of the greatest of all time, and was a very charitable person, and died very tragically and way too young, along with one of his children, the whole thing is very sad.... but people are losing their minds like MLK or Kennedy just got shot. It's a little annoying.

Was at travel basketball practice when the news broke. We were hoping TMZ jumped the gun and got it wrong but it wasn’t to be. The 13 y/o daughter makes it even more heart wrenching. Prayers for the family.

Maybe abortion isn't murder... Why would anyone who accused someone of rape do that.

I mean I get it; for almost 20 years he was one of the top 5 greatest sports figures in the world, during a time when the Internet, 24 hour news, and social media was hitting its stride. He played in one of the largest media markets on earth and succeeded at an astonishing level as the result of a notorious drive and determination to be great. Since retiring, he had spent pretty much all of his time being a dad and giving back to the sport and mentoring young NBA players.

Dude was a hero to millions and in large part because of who he was and not just what he did.

Nobody will ever acuse the bitch of being lazy. I'll give her that much. I'd love to start a landscaping outfit with her

Consider the joie de vivre it takes to let a handful of low level ski instructors run through you during banking hours, only to have your cheeks busted by a 6'7 dude they called "black mamba" for a nightcap

Way more impressive that watching a chinaman eat 100 hot dogs if you ask me

Seeing quotes on here like "everyone wishes they were him", all the celebrity gushing. I have a business associate who said she's been crying all day. Some people need to get real. Horrible accident, but people that people don't know personally die every day by tragedy. What about them?

I am same age as him. Thus, didn't grow up idolizing him. I guess it is the younger folks who are more upset. And those close to the game in general, Ive never been a big bball fan.

Why would anyone weep for a person they never knew on any level?

That's another attribute of the younger fans who grew up idolizing him, being younger means less life experience, less likely to have experienced personal tragedy, so no frame of reference. Sadness and whatnot is relative.

For many young people this might actually be the saddest thing that has ever happened to them. Example, a kid's dog has puppies and one of them dies, it is devastating. Same kid 30 years later feels " oh that's sad but oh well".

Im 10x sadder about the multiple kids that died on that helicopter. That is painful to think about.
