He led with his helmet down aka the crown of his helmet.
HS players are taught to tackle leading with the shoulder below the waist and wrap up the legs.

Put the helmet right on the ball just like Dan Jackson did last year. There is a point where you can't get any lower running with out tilting your head. he was at that point but hit the ball.

It was textbook targeting that has been called in nearly every game this year across CFB. Move on, KJ is back Saturday

Can't lower your head and spear. Had little to do with where he hit the receiver.

I refuse to accept that when the wr lowers their head into a defender. Text book would have had a launch, and the use of the crown as a weapon, here it was him naturally lowering his helmet as a part of the rest of his body getting low and the wr also lowering his helmet.
they could have also called the wr for targeting. But they have chosen to let the Offense off of these random penalties.
pretargeting, Bolden would have destroyed him. again he was just putting his helmet on the ball while trying to get low and if the wr can lower his head, he is not defenseless.
I think Bama life 47 is an alter.

Targeting is often unfair to defenders. I see running backs using their helmets as weapons and there's no call.
