His head coach was on the sideline jumping up and down telling them to hurry the frick up. He's the boss. I think Kirby was upset that Stet never looked his way.

I can see this being the case. There was plenty of blame to go around. But again...if you are the head coach and this is happening do you just get mad and go into the half with an unused time out, or do you call time out and get everybody on the same page?

Do they have those in college? (Comms to QB helmets)

The way it played out, it was like he was completely shut out from the conversation.
It was definitely strange.

I am about to leave for awhile...but if you disagree with my opinion, give it. I won't belittle you. I realize I sometimes hold unpopular opinions and also realize that sometimes it is wrong. I will look at this when I get home and respond respectfully. As long as we keep things respectful I am good with it.

I do my best to use logic and experience from my past to make arguments, but I can get drawn into bad arguments sometimes, too.

There was about a minute and a half after the interception and the review to call the targeting foul. What ever the plan was they should have all been on the same page, Kirby, Monken and Stet. I have seen teams hurry up things after a turn over and give up a cheap scoring drive for the other team. Perhaps a pass or so to the outside to move into FG range. Kirby's behavior was bizarre, imo.

Yes, he should have. That TO did no good taking it into halftime.

We probably lost the NC in 2012 because we didn't have a TO left at the end of the game against Bama.

One way to look at it. Or if our WR had been thinking (I can't remember who it was) and realized he could not get into the end zone he could have knocked the ball down. Or if Murray had spiked the ball we would have had another play.

I agree that a timeout is optimal. But if you don't use it and time runs out on you what good did it do to keep it?

It was Chris Connely. I want to say it was a 4th down play and that's why they couldn't spike it.

Went back to check. We had just completed a first down pass to Arthur Lynch (TE) to the Alabama 8. Murray looked over to the sideline making the spike motion but was waved off. There was 15 seconds left on the clock. Spike the ball there and we would have had at least 10 left on the clock and time for two throws to the end zone.

I really like Mark Richt, but that turned out to be a bad decision in hindsight. That said, Richt said he felt Alabama's defense was tired and on their heels and we could score.

Go to the 13:50 spot.

What WR would ever not catch a ball when he could win a game? Richt later admitted he waived off the spike call to Murray because he hoped to catch Bama out of position. A spike would give Bama a chance to get fresh players in and call a good defensive play. It was a semi-good decision only if everything went Georgia's way. But the offense was just as hurried as the Bama defense and the blocker on that play went the wrong way, and we lost.

Just watched the first half replay. Kirby was calm during the last minute or so as the clock was being run down until about 15 seconds left, then he went ballistic and started screaming at Bennett and was all over him when the half ended and Bennett came to the sidelines. Makes no sense.

As soon as it was obvious there was a disconnect, Kirby should have called the timeout and gotten it straightened out. Then if you get into FG range you can clock the ball if necessary.
