Part of me thinks he will keep Pruitt and is delaying it so that there will be an explosive reaction from recruits when it is announced. Keep the recruits titillated and on the edge of their seat, and then give them exactly what they want to hear.

I also have a pretty active imagination.

Doubt it's the reaction he's gunning for. He's just being methodic and not rushing the decision. This is a critical juncture for his future as a head coach; needs to make the right hires or risk sinking like Muschamp did. Doesn't help that he's on a bit of a time crunch. Fortunately, he has money, some great mentors and advisors, and plenty of people at UGA willing to make phone calls and power plays to get what he needs.

Yeah you're probably right. But can you imagine if Pruitt is retained and Kirby is in front of a mic somewhere, does a interview, and closes with "oh and one more thing...JP ain't goin anywhere".

I think twitter would break.

So what are you thinking percentage wise of Pruitt remaining on the staff? 50% higher/lower? Smart also mentioned B-Mac a few times yesterday during his intro. I feel as if he will remain at UGA? Rocker and Lilly? IDK... Lilly probably to Da U. Rocker back to Auburn?

Pruitt I think is an honest 50/50. It's totally up to Kirby. If someone else wanted him and he wanted to leave, he'd be gone by now.

Same goes for the rest of the current staff. I think they're all guys that want to be at Georgia but it's going to be up to Kirby as to whether or not they do. I think Rocker has made it pretty obvious he doesn't have much interest in going back to Auburn (nor does Garner seem to have any intention of giving up his spot as DL Coach over there which is fine by me).

I think Lilly is still a strong possibility to follow Richt to Miami and I think Brown is a strong possibility to stay here. Sale and BMac? No idea.

In order of likelihood to be retained, I would go:

Brown
McClendon
Rocker
Sherrer
Pruitt (he could just choose to leave, as well, so I'm factoring that in)
Lilly (will likely go with Richt imo, but if not I could see him staying)

I feel pretty confident in saying Sale, Schotty, and Ekeler are gone.

Bama is the wildcard here

I've got it on pretty good authority that Pruitt despises Saban. Granted, bama could very well remain a wild card as Saban could leave at the end of the season and Pruitt would likely consider a return to his alma mater under such circumstances.

But bama isn't going to act until the end of the year to reduce distraction (at least that's my guess) which means we should have first dibs

Rocker and Lilly?

There's a quote in this article from dawgnation by Marlon Davidson about Rocker. Makes it sound like he knows Rocker will be there. Again I may be reading too much into the comment.

LINK

quote:

“Georgia is coming a little harder now that Kirby is there with (UGA defensive line coach Tracy) Rocker,” Davidson told Davis. “It’s looking pretty good.”

Kirby replaces this whole staff, except one or two.

Dude on 247 says answer on Pruitt + OC hire on Thursday.

At least he didn't say his sources tell him we'll be happy on Tuesday..

Chip Lindsey hire would jive with what Radi was hinting at a few days ago in a tweet- something about .. "Just scuttlebutt for now but you can keep Chipping away at it."

Maybe a veiled critique of Chip Towers and how terrible he is.

I think Radi's "Chipping" comment was hinting at someone on Western/Central Michigan's staff - whichever school is the Chippewas.

Dasher now reporting looking more and more likely TB will be only one retained. Coaches and staff will all be his people.
