I know ladyluck has typically had the pay info from rivals on lock but I was pretty pumped about this post. Same site as ll's info, and it's stickied so I would assume that means the mods are in agreeance.
To sum it up, this poster in a very roundabout way basically said that KS would be in athens in a few days and already has his staff picked out (most of which he thinks will accept). Also alluded to cochran coming over.

How is that news? Unless you mean Smart will be here PERMANENTLY in a few days. Everyone expects he'll be here Sunday for the announcement. And I would expect he discussed his projected staff during the interview process, no? And Cochran's been "alluded to" for days now.

I would expect him to drive over from the ATL after the SECCG Saturday evening.

Well, assuming it's all correct:
-we know that kirby will be here practically as soon as humanly possible to sign
-we know that he has his entire staff already targeted, and knows 90% of who will accept. This board has gone crazy wondering this that and the other.
-as of yesterday bama folks were saying cochran was 50/50.
I'm not saying it's breaking, news flash type info but it's good news for us so just wanted to pass along.

I'm not counting on Cochran. He already gets paid $450k and I don't see our cheap arse admins ponying up for that.

If we don't pay up I have to imagine that Jere is on the same side at Greg. I mean he's Greg's boss.

If Smart can wrest that guy from the clutches of Saban, it will be a masterstroke.
If they balk at WHATEVER it takes, they are idiots and don't want to take the program to the next level.
It would have been a lot easier just to keep richie.

Kirby staying with Bama through the bowl game is such a weak move. I'm all for loyalty, but part of his job is keeping our recruiting class together.

I am not sure that precludes Smart from recruiting. Most coaches in this position and there has been many have "split" responsibilities. I am employee quits (Smart) and you want him to stay on for a period (understandably) then you make concessions, IE, coach us and recruit for them.
If you are suggesting that there will be a radio silence and no naming of the staff under Smart until after the bowls, that could be (would be) a disaster.

Other than Monteg. Anyone else hearing Meacham in play? I've heard it from a few people today

I haven't heard it any more than Helton. What kind of offense does Meachem run?

Did you have a problem with Richt when he did the same thing?
