I love it. Get him some more experience before going on the road 2 straight weeks against SEC opponents. Add in Holyfield and Herrien getting more time, and the offense should start to gel more.

I can't imagine them walking this one back. You can't start a freshman and then pull the rug out from under him.

When you decide to start a true freshman at QB, you kind of have to fully commit to it. There are going to be bumps in the road, but you can't rattle his confidence by pulling him all the time.

He's not starting against an SEC team, it's Nichols. Hat does UGA learn by playing GL, NC, or SM in this game?

NADA.

I'm just saying y'all all want to be making the coaching decisions , just like 3 weeks ago, and knew nothing.

KS has been extremely clear both are still playing for the 1 spot. Why you all refuse to listen is beyond me.

Playing just the tip with the starting QB job would be stupid. That's all I'm saying.

Also just as a point.

See the see the depth chart listed Weds I think.

Eason is listed as number 2 not even an OR like last week. Then he gives him the start? That makes me think that this isn't a change , it's Nichols St

Thank you. This was my point.

If he was getting the start against MIZZ and he might I would agree. But it's not it's what should be a scrimmage game, matter of fac hopefully practices and scrimmages I would hope are harder.

The thought is that if you start him against Nicholls how do you NOT start him against Mizzou...unless he really struggles which gets back to the confidence issue.

This is all just BS discussion and speculation anyway....I'm excited to see what he can do against Nicholls and expected him to get a ton of reps anyway. They know what they're doing.

The thing is that it isn't just about Jacob. The whole offense needs to find an in-game rhythm with whoever the starting QB is as we head into SEC play. This is basically UGA's tune-up game.

We didn't have the luxury to use UNC for that, so it made sense to start Lambert and just try to get through that game.

Let me be clear, I'm not saying he won't be the starter going forward, I'm just saying just because he's getting a start , doesn't make him the starter.

Evidence by KS last night , the depth chart, and everything he's said to this point.

I hope he is!!! But just like a few weeks ago , we all maybe jumping the gun.

Don't like it. Would prefer to work him in more like we did last week.

It has to happen now or Ole Miss is going to beat the Piss out of us.

Plus, he played better than a fifth year senior in his first college game. How can you not go with Eason at this point.

Use Lambo as a safety net.

I think he is full of himself enough where his confidence most likely won't be a factor.

Like I said last week, even if Eason had thrown 5 picks and we lost 35-7 to UNC he needs to be the starter. Starting Lambert gains us nothing.

Nervousness about starting freshman QBs is the topic.

I expect this game to show our Oline starting to gel and a stable of running backs beginning to emerge.

Good article on how this situation parallels '91 with Zeier and Talley. I remember being so pumped after that Clemson game that year. I really felt like the program had turned the corner finally, although not technically true in hindsight but that would wind up being Goff's best two years.

Eric Zeier's take on things.
