No one is saying you CAN'T. Hell, you can be a fan of UGA, tech, florida, and auburn all at once if you want to.
We're saying that it's pretty bandwagon of you. I mean think about this...if I chose to become an alabama fan when saban took over and just kept riding with em, in 20 years I could legitimately say "I've been a bama fan for over 25 years!". While that statement would be factually correct, it's still bandwagon. You were in your mid-late teens, chose the best program in college basketball and the best program in college football, and became a "fan" of those teams. Just because you are still a "fan" of those teams 15 years later doesn't make it any less bandwagon.

Didn't know there were prerequisites to being a UGA fan. When did you guys pick your team when you were 2 years old? I actually waited until I was old enough to know something about sports to pick my team

Pretty much, I was born into this program. If I had my way I'd be a Bama fan who also rooted for the Yankees, Lakers, Patriots and Obama. But I was born in Georgia and I wear this badge of mediocrity proudly unlike you and because of that I have no choice but to feel morally and spiritually superior.

Who "picks" a fricking team? Im a UGA fan because as a baby all my toys and bibs and outfits and shite all had a G on them. Is that not the norm?

There aren't any prerequisites, but you can't just root for a team when they're good.
I really didn't ever pick teams. I cheer for Georgia because my family members went there and I was born there. I cheer for the Redskins because my dads side of the family are all dyed in the wool Skins fans from Virginia. I'm a Braves fan because I was born there and went to Braves games as a small child. I didn't actually "pick" any teams, but I cheer for them proudly, through the good and the bad.
My one caveat as a multi-school fan is that I cheer UVa as well as UGA. My dad went there and bought season tickets for basketball when we moved to Richmond. I don't have nearly the same allegiance to UVa though

I mean I cheer for Northwestern and sometimes, SOMETIMES PSU but if one had to go 0-12 in order for UGA to win one game vs Vandy I'd take it. No issue in having another school to root for but they can't at all make you question your true loyalty.
