Nevermind. My point was already made.

64.3 QBR and one sack. Very meh.

Some focus on QBR and give no credit to the absolutely huge punch back drive when we lost all the momentum. Also the pretty much game sealing first down with his feet. It’s a very bizarre take to stew on his performance based on who we played and where and the results

I think constructive criticism is fine, there are always improvements that need to be made. It would be one thing if this was either the national title game or if Beck came out and played lights out throughout the game, but that distinction belongs to our defense, no one’s going to complain about the defense.
Thing is though when it comes to the Beck question, there’s several factors of his up and down moments, not all of which are his fault.
Firstly, yes, our WRs have been dropping a lot of passes, but Beck’s also thrown his fair share of horrible passes, too often of which end up in the hands of the other team.
The running game though. Etienne seems to be coming along fine but this running back room as a whole has taken a step back. Depth is more of an issue. Frazier was great vs. Clemson but maybe he’s still a liability as a young player in other assignments he’s needed for, idk, but it’ll be interesting to see how they work in Rodrick if and when he returns
The play selection in general in the first half’s of the game have been weird, it’s like they were using the pass in the 1st half to set up the run for the 2nd half, but the play selection needs to be more balanced for sure because I think we are asking too much of Beck in certain cases
Beck also put his body on the line with a couple of his runs for 1st down when we needed it, but kudos to him for that…and when Texas was really gaining momentum and about to get the ball back, Beck hits a 3rd and 10 and helps drive it down to field when we really needed one

Had we a competent QB, we'd have hung 50 on them.

Personally I thought he called a good game and Beck did a great job on the night.
Kirbs did a fantastic job getting this team prepared.
Now, I hope their isint a let down going Jacksonville to play the swamp trash.
I think (little) this team has turned a point for the better in the season.
I am thankful for this team and last Saturday night 100%!

Constructive criticism is warranted. Beck would be the first to say it I bet. I don’t see that angle out of a lot of people.

No, if we had competent pass catchers we would have tcu-ed them.

According to PFF, there were only 3 drops. The rest were poor throws by Beck.

I can think of about 4 immediatley off the top of my head.
-first play of the game, slant to bell dropped
-second play of the game, ball over the middle to bell dropped
-the pass to luckie inside their 10 that hit off his hands and was intercepted
-pass to luckie at the goal line that he gathered in both hands then dropped
-the pass late in the game to Humphries that was simply dropped
Every single one of those balls hit the WR in both hands. The second play of the game pass to bell you could argue was behind him, but still should've been caught. That's not even counting the 3 or 4 interceptions that hit our DBs in the hands that were dropped.
If our players simply caught the ball after hitting them in both hands we may have won by 5 TDs. Beck played subpar for certain but to act like most of our shortcomings are on him simply isn't right.

PFF. Are you attributing poor throws to drops? Beck aint it. He sucks in big games and against better defenses. What was the stat before the game - 7 ints in the previous 2 games? Lets not for the debacle at bama where he had 3 ints and 6 dropped ones.
Either the pussy got to his head, or the rat poison, or both.

pro football focus is extreeeeemly subjective. Some of the shite they come up with is pure nonsense. I don't doubt they do a wonderful job with some things but they arne't the end all be all resource.
I'm using my eyes and watching what happened on the field. Above I mentioned 4 plays just from memory that carson's pass hit a WR in both hands and was dropped. I do not blame any of those (with the possible exception of the 2nd play of the game, which is iffy) on carson. And those are just ones that immediatley sprung to mind, I would be nearly certain there are plenty others as well.

Not every throw can be put perfectly in stride in a dudes basket. Some have to clear lineman and underneath coverage. Some have to land in spots where zone defenses can’t make a play. Balls bouncing off hands are on receivers.
The controversial int was an easy pitch and catch if 11 stays on his route and turns and moves to the ball. Beck throws the ball to a spot on that before 11 turns back. Somehow the contact got him off the route and more importantly inside. If you don’t want Beck to throw that, then you need to concede that we don't run any curl/stop timing routes. Ever again.

The pass to Luckie was on Beck.

I think Luckie was able to get one hand on the football
