Yes...the sky is falling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know its a faint memory now, but our defensive shut down of Clemson, which has since gone on to put on an offensive show, is a very encouraging indication for me.

I hate to say it because it’s probably gonna get a lot of downvotes But I don’t care until proven otherwise and my opinion I Don’t see us beating Bama in my opinion, I think we have been better than them in the last three matchups and we went 1-2 in those matchups I mean it was proven on the field I mean last year that first drive was beautiful and then look what happened. It seems to me every time we play Bama we have our what happened game I don’t know if it is because It was Saban or so much it was Kirby’s respect for Saban . Am I hoping to be wrong? Hell Yes Am i going be watching and pulling for them anyway? Yes but until proven otherwise I don’t see how we get them

We usually lose to Bama because they have better players at key skill positions.
Our problem is our OL and QB.
Bama will stuff our running game and be putting even more pressure on Beck than Kentucky did because our OL and TE's won't be able to block them.
And while our defense is very good, it will difficult to contain Milroe the entire game with Bama running RPO's
I think the only way we can win this is to run a completely different innovative playbook that Bama has not prepared for. The problem is Beck isn't athletic enough to run the RPO's necessary to move the point of attack away from Bama's stout and athletic OL.
In other words I think it boils down to pocket passer Beck vs the athletic Milroe and such a match-up generally favors the athletic QB in college football.
But if the unexpected happens and our OL is transformed into one that can run block and protect Beck, then we definitely have a chance to win because I expect our defense to hold Bama to about 4 TD's.
As such, I'm hoping for a 28 to 38 type game in our favor.
Gooooooo Dawgs!!

I like Beck as qb but RPO is not the first thing I think of with him.

He has underestimated legs. He doesn't use them often, but when he needs to he can move.
Folks acting like he's a statue either aren't watching or don't know football.

He has improved greatly getting his feet going, but his size makes him clumsy and slow to start.
Once in the open, he has wheels.

Alabama is physical on both lines but, due to injuries, I'm more worried about the DL than the OL. We need a healthy DL rotation to hold up late in the game. If those guys can hold their own, I think we can contain Milroe's running.

Looking like Williams and Hall still might not be ready. Was hoping to have both these guys back.

Clemson fans have been complaining about the App state cut block that injured Peter Woods in the backfield. Dabo was pissed off too, said he was gonna send the tape in for review. I considered signing up for TigerNet to ask if Dabo was gonna have anything to say about Phil Mafah's block on Mykel.

We should set up a separate thread for all the little bitch fights

That’s bc you’re a pussy. It was never bama it was Saban. He’s gone now. How some of you don’t get that I still don’t understand.

Well to be fair, we haven't played bama yet without saban so there's no way to definitely say what you're saying.
I'm sure after 2001 our collective fambase rejoiced to the heavens one spurrier left, only for our hex to continue with ron zook.
Fact is alabama still has one of the 2-3 most talented rosters in all of football, probably 99% of that roster was recruited by saban, and they are playing at home at night. We very well may lose this game and it won' thave a damn thing to do with "well they just can't beat alabama" and it'd have everything to do with "man that's a really good football team"
I mean are we applying similar logic to Texas? They're currently ranked #1 and looking great. If we lose to them on the road will people say Kirby has a texas problem and we simply can't beat them? Or would it be that we just lost to a top 3 team at their place?
We don' ALWAYS have to assign some deeper seeded convoluted narrative to every stiuation, all the time.

How many times have we had bama dead to rights and Saban adjusted and came back and whipped our arse?

In kirby's previous matchups with bama:
-Twice we have had the cleraly, vastly inferior team and we've gone 0-2
-Three times we have mostly been pretty equal, and we've gone 1-2
-Once we were likely the superior team, and are 0-1
We are essentially 1-3 when the teams are relatively evenly matched and in two of those losses saban didn't do anything to whip our arse, kirby just metnally sharted on our gameplan and essnetially lost out of the gate.
