I don’t think anyone here disagrees with the fact that we are in the golden years of UGA football. We are by no means in the ship is slowly sinking. Anyone that is asking for Kirby smart to be fired as of right now is dumb. This is the best Head Coach we have had in the history of tbis program. But he still makes millions of dollars per year for the product he puts on the field, which means he can be criticized for said product.

I think the ones who “bitch and moan” just don’t want to be “one hit wonders”. College football has always been a “what have you done for me lately?”

And since Monkien left wellllll….. what has our offense done lately?

My issues ain’t with Kirby. He has shown that he can put a championship caliber coaching staff together. We just do not have one right now.

Re: one hit wonder. What Saban did at Bama will never be repeated. During that stretch there were maybe one or two teams per year nationally that could realistically challenge him. And Saban had his share of hiccups too. Now there are maybe 10-12 teams out there every year that are pretty much equal. When you play an equal team it's basically a coin flip and you are going to lose half those flips. Look at our 22 team - as dominant as that team was winning the Natty meant getting by Oh St and we could have VERY EASILY lost that game, in fact maybe should have. With the current landscape Kirby just needs to position this team to be in the mix every year then let the chips fall. Best case scenario is playoffs almost every year and a Natty maybe every few. This team will continue to grow and improve and there is a good chance they will be in the final 12 and from that point they will have a puncher's chance.

What saban did at bama was just repeating what bear bryant did at Alabama. And just like when the Bear retired, everyone and their mother said it wouldn’t be repeated.

Dynasties can still exists in this college football era. But now that paying players is legal, and the playing field is more leven, it puts an even bigger emphasis on a teams coaching staff than it did 10 years ago.

At one point we had a coaching staff that most fans of other teams dream about having. We do not have that anymore. We do have a head coach that most teams would jump at the opportunity to snag. That is it.

Mike has never been offered a job since his promotion.
Neither has Glenn.

Not one single team has tried to steal them away, that should be the biggest sign that they are not as elite and some of the posters here what to pretend they are.

What if we were paid to lose? UGA is still in the hunt and suddenly bama looks like a playoff contender again. Just a thought.
