You're up to what,3 anti Stetson post?

You said the Stetson hate was EVERYWHERE AFTER the Michigan game. Which was complete horseshite

The vast majority of local sports talk was pro Stetson after that game along with ALL the local TV sports talking heads ALONG with the AJC

I suppose if you live on this board like yourself you might think this place encompasses the entire dawg nation.

There is an interview out there of Richie Lecounte. Some year, he was doing those promos with Jake Fromm trying to stir up excitement for UGA recruiting.
He has this great group of stud recruits coming in with him.

An interviewer asks him who the best player that he played against in high school was. And he said Stetson Bennett. They faced off in a playoff game. And Stetson was giving them the Joe Burrow/Joe Montana business.

He told Kirby that they have to bring Stetson in.

It's cool hearing how Monken did everything he could to keep Bennett off the field, but Kirby kept believing in him. I think back to those comments from Richie.

i hate to nitpick but that isn't true at all. first of all kirby is the HC and has the final say on who starts at QB. In August of 2020 Kirby deemed that stetson would be 4th string to start the season. Heading into the 2021 season he was the backup as well.

He ended up getting his chance and he capitalized on it, but let's not act like there was some massive clash of egos behind closed doors with monken saying "never stetson, ever!" and kirby pounding his fists saying "yes dammit! He's my guy and we gotta get him out there!"

Nobody on the coaching staff wanted stetson to start, until the point he was thrust into action and then proved he was worthy.

Kirby was a blue chip snob but I think Stet and Jordan Davis have broken him of that. Just go get pure football players and don't over concentrate on perception. Much like our BBall team got smashed by what looked like an out of shape, homeless dude in the NCAA tournament who could straight ball.

Monken had complete control of the offense. That was part of the deal for him coming here. Personnel decisions were totally his.

Monken and Stetson very famously did not get along. Stetson hated monken

Isn’t Monken the one that came to Kirby after the Clemson game and said he thought they had the best chance to win with Stetson as Beck had a shitty practice?

I thought Beck got benched because his loud mouth arse daddy was telling everyone that he was starting and they decided to humble his arse. (Didn't work)

Tell me that you didn't watch the video without telling me that you didn't watch the video.

Monken's own words, man.
Jesus.

Im not saying that Kirby thought Stetson was God. Im saying that Kirby liked Stetson (as opposed to Monken who wondered why he was there)

Beck was already benched. He was the backup.

He didn't get called off the bench because he wasn't ready, yet.

I think that's the case.
But I don't think it was based on one practice. All practices.
Carson was talented. But he was nicknamed Carson Pick by the defense.

Monken got to drive the offense.

Stetson Bennett is the most effective football player UGA has ever had. By that he was the best player in UGA history based on what he did for us. It's him and Herschel. Both brought Championships.

Both should have Statues.
