Booger

I have a friend associated with the Auburn program. While speaking with him at the game last weekend in Auburn, he said this exact same thing. He said Malzahn's track record averaged 5 years at each job he'd had. He also said Malzahn just didn't seem that interested in being in Auburn anymore and specifically mentioned the Arkansas job.

Stepping down to a perennial doormat while also staying in the same division so you can still get beat regularly by Bama, LSU, aTm, and your former team?

Honestly, I don't see a downside for Gus.

Would be hilarious.

Only a couple of weeks ago, the auburn trash fanbase wanted Gus ran out of town. He should give them what they wanted.

Let's see how they like it when the tables are turned.

You could look at it from an angle that if Gus loses the Iron Bowl again, Aubbies will be out for him in force. To a lesser extent, if he loses the SECCG they will be calling for a change as well.

They went 8-5 in 2016, 7-6 in 2015, and 8-5 in 2014 so I'd wager that if they lose the Iron Bowl that this has a real chance.

This. Malzahn would be stupid to leave his sweet situation at Auburn. He has a rich recruiting base that consistently extends into Georgia for one thing.

Mecole saved Gus' job.

They were legit going to fire him if he lost to UGA and Bama, after having already lost to LSU and Clemson.

I wouldn't go that far but we definitely need better OL play and better receivers.

Arky needs to hire Jim Chaney as their HC and then we can bring Bobo back as OC!

Auburn fans trashed him mercilessly for going 2-6 then 5-3 in conference, then for getting the 2020 extension last year. Trashed him again this year for the two losses. Hope Gus goes. frick Auburn.
