Evolving. Called a timeout with 1:19 in the first half when Missouri had the ball at our 1. They score but then we come back and score a touchdown before the half. Kirby would've never done that in his first few years or probably even last year. Kirby's decided that trying to score the most points possible has more value than worrying about what can go wrong (turnovers) if you mash the gas and try to score as many points as possible.

It's good when a coach can put his pride to the side and admit that a philosophy that he had for years and years wasn't necessarily correct.

Kirby isn't perfect. But he's still the man!

We'd be 9-1 with a rematch against Alabama if JT had been able to start week 1.

And Saban would have two weeks to heal and prepare cause we’d still have the makeup game against Vanderwoke.

We get screwed even in our fantasies

I mean, he should have done it after 1st down

But yes, good to realize after 2nd down we needed to call TO to give us a chance to score.

9-1 or maybe even better. It would have at least been a one score game vs Bama,

I know he has a reputation for being "stubborn" and "set in his ways" but I genuinely do not think this is case. I think it has more to do with the fact that prior to 2016 he had never been a head coach at any level and has had to learn on while on the job.

However, I agree with your main point and it is great to see him translating his previous experiences into his decision making process.

Is anybody ready to talk about the graphic espn showed today comparing Richt and Kirbs? Or should we just act like we didn’t see it

I’m leaning towards the latter

100percent healthy JT, not sure we lose this year. Next year really is the year.

Agree to disagree. If they score on the 2nd try, we get the ball with the same time and all 3 timeouts.

Having 2 timeouts in out pocket does so much for the playbook when marching downfield. 180 degree difference than only 1 timeout.

Meh...who knows? We still had a lot of injuries...especially on defense. Maybe if JT started from week one AND no injuries.

So the back end of CMR's tenure at UGA is what paints that graphic in a bad light.

Personally I don't have a problem with it. Both have strong records in their first 5 years on the job.

Unless you are too young to remember the early Richt days or weren't a Georgia fan back then, this is not a bad comparison. Early Richt was hungry. If you had a poll of the best head coach in the SEC after his fifth season (2005), it would've been Richt.

Would you rather have 40 seconds or an extra timeout?

The answer is always 40 seconds.
