I never caught the kid rape vibe on my visit there, but it was definitely an old school feel. Even for that time. I did get an autographed book from Joe Paterno. Eventually lost it but kept it for a while.

Ohio state is the lesser of all evils when it comes to this exact specific situation. It's like bama under the saban dynasty- like if bama wins another title does that really negatively affect us at all? OSU won a title alreayd in the playoff era, they have a top 2/3 most talented roster in the sport with one of the highest payrolls, and they already recruit blue chip guys anyway (and surprisingly not a ton of head to head battles with us). Them winning a title is kinda like "well, yeah you should have won it. Congrats".

Texas is in our league and on our schedule regularly from here on out and we do compete with them head to head for recruits. they haven't won a title in 20 years. them winning is a worst case scenario for us.

Penn state is a pretender that probably isn't even one of the 10 best temas in america, them winning would be a mockery of the sport. And ND, while better than PSU, is another team that has benefitted by playing virtually nobody all year and lucked into playing our backup QB. They haven't won a title since most message board posters were born.

None of these teams winning is "good" for us, obviously, but OSU is the easiest to stomach. And I say that as a person that hates OSU and ryan day.

The least objectionable outcome is for tOSU to win it all, I'm afraid. They're the least farthest removed from their last CFP title with Urban, and they're dumb enough to keep Day around for at least another 5-10 years if he can buy a title this year.

Frick that, I all too well remember the nauseating love affair the sports media had with Notre Dame through the 80’s & 90’s. I can picture Beano Cook slobbering into the mic with his neck jowl shaking explaining how a 4 loss ND team should still be in the running for the natty.

Beano is worm mill. Think about it. We compete more with OSU, Texas, and OSU than Notre Dame. They beat us so anyone they beat has no bragging rights as it pertains to us.

Let them have it.

Yes....this is exactly right. So whereas now we can say "ND hasn't won a title in 37 years!!!", them winning a title just adds one more current program to contend with.

So if OSU loses and ND wins, who do you think OSU hires when the fire Day?
