1 It’s Becks Plain and Simple
2Stockton looked better then Vandagriff
3 TEs are Just fine look for Brock Delp and Luckie to show out
4 Mews impressed me
5 The WRs left a lot to be desired in my opinion Not seeing Lovett or Thomas was kinda concerning
6 Defensively nothing really wowed me but it looked pretty good
7 31 points in a Spring game tells me the offensive is Humming just fine with Bobo

Lovett made a couple of catches. Don’t remember seeing RaRa.

It’s hard to imagine a school having a better TE room than UGA.

We are and will most likely forever be under Kirby, an offense based on power running and play action gashes. In a spring game where no one really tries to run, it’s hard to flex that offense. Knowing we were passing more than usual I thought the offense looked great.

1st q, Beck was throwing to the A-team- Bowers, Arian, McConkey. Padded his stats pretty quick. I wonder if BVG had started for that side if he wouldn't have had good numbers too. I know they switched at half but by then the A team wasn't out there much either for him.

Who knows? To me there’s still just this slight awkwardness with BV where it looks like something is just off a hair. And yes, I say this with the full understanding that he will transfer and look like Joe Montana at Auburn or some shite.

Also recall a couple weeks ago scrimmage notes said Beck was dogshit and BVG shined.

Totally remember. I was optimistic that BV would develop into the guy simply because if they were equal in the passing game, then BV is the better player and easy starter based on his running. But it looks more like a what is more valuable question. Better passing and offensive knowledge with little rushing threat vs meh passing with significant rushing threat? Vandagriff looked better than he has in the past but still slightly off and not like Beck.

Offense looks as dynamic as last year. I think Beck will be great. All those TE’s, RB’s (which we didn’t see), and O-Line will compete against ANYONE… ANYWHERE… PERIOD.

Defense was scrambled up today. Some switched sides. I thought Wilson and M Pemba stood out. I thought Jarrett looked really good in the middle. Hall blew shite up in 2nd half and now people know why he passed Bear. He’s a freak. Christian Miller looked great. Secondary (moved around on series) showed flashes of being solid but got beat a lot. Overall, rinse and repeat under Kirby.

Special Teams looked ok. Still worried about our kicking situation. Hopefully we won’t need them that much this year.

Overall: The schedule sets up perfectly for a lot of these errors to be addressed before the back half of the season. I would be shocked if we weren’t right back in the playoffs again.

If we wanted to really nitpick, I would still love to see us work on our backs catching balls. Obviously they aren’t kmac and folks are out, but it’s a thing you take for granted until you see guys dropping them out of the back.

I think the only legit takeaways from seeing 1 scrimmage are pretty vanilla.

The starting QB job is Beck's to lose. But we all kinda knew this.

Oscar Delp looked much better in last year's G-Day than today's.

Arian Smith is fire. He will be an NFL starter.

Brock Bowers isn't resting on his laurels.

Defense looks like it won't skip a beat.

Kickers are shady.

I like Daijun as a change of pace back, but he's not a feature back. Please tell me it's not Savaughn Clark or the white guy. Hopefully Branson Robinson comes back stronger from his injury. Running is going to be key when going with a new QB.

This Luckie guy is interesting.

frick Bear Alexander. Don't need him. And if he's going to be a bitch, we really really don't need him. Our DL were blowing up the backfield all day and stuffing runs without him.
