No one is saying that. But this system sucks and there is a reason every team with a bye lost. Let’s give the 5th best team in the country a free tune up game against an opponent they are favored to beat by 3 touchdowns. Meanwhile, the better team has been sitting on their arse for 4-5 weeks waiting to play
Why not just go back to the BCS system, and let that decide the best 8 teams and they go at it. This isn’t basketball. There will never be a “Cinderella” run for a football team. Could they win one lucky arse game, sure, but they aren’t competing in reality. Also, no matter how many teams you have, people will bitch about not being the last spot
Basketball has 68 spots and 4-5 teams still bitch about being left out.
The more you add, the less meaningful regular season becomes and THAT is why people don’t like it. Teams are already dropping tough opponents for shitty cakewalks moving forward…what a great new thing “they” have created

I will say this. In the old days there was much doubt over who the NC really was due to the shifting ways subjectivity tilted the selection processes. That's gone now. There has not been a debate about who the NC is since the CFP started and there never will be. It's one thing I had hoped to live long enough to see, and I'm glad i did.

So if Duke finds a way to win tonight… that means Miami would be the at large from the ACC, ND would stay where they are, and ALABAMA WILL BE OUT! We could get the 2 seed as well.
