We talk about 3rd down conversions. I think the real key for us is 1st down. If we get 5 on 1st down, 2nd down becomes an Try whatever we want Down, and 3rd is still manageable. We can't run into the butt of the OL for 2 yards on first down and then expect consistent 3rd and long conversions.

I agree. It seems in big games we tend to come out throwing. Seems odd to me, and maybe it just seems that way.

Frankly I want to set the tone for the run game and greatly shorten the first half and then let it all hang out in the second.

Would like to see Fromm call his own number On a couple of obvious passing downs. That would go a long ways to keeping defense honest.
