Eason is the starter and they are only stringing Lambert along so he doesn't quit.

Do you really think Lambert would quit? There are worse ways to spend your last year of eligibility than being the back up and dating the prom queen. If I were Lambert I'd pull a Garcia, hit the party circuit and get my arse arrested. Make the decision easier for the betterment of the team.

I do too. It would've been great to see him grow out of some of the issues he had last year. I still think people discount his ability to get everyone set at the line and bet this was part of our issue with running last week.

Eason will be the starter and Lambert is the safety net in case of a meltdown.
And they're not going to play Lambert because they think he'll quit.
Where's he gonna go? Back to Virginia? Lambert knows his role and he's mature enough to deal with it. Eason's playing time depends on Eason and Eason alone.

Why would Lambert quit? I seriously doubt he would have made this far as a player if he was that weak-minded. He is probably set for life already. A Virginia degree and former starting QB for the home state school. You could do a LOT worse than that.
