I don't have a problem with pessimism either, but there are plenty of so-called "Georgia fans" on the internet who are incessant with their criticism of everthing about Georgia football. On the message boards it tends to be the same ones, with ridiculously frequent repetition, tearing down players and coaches constantly even during a record setting run of success. In the anonymous world of the internet that always makes me skeptical, especially when their talking points bear a close resemblance to those disseminated by rival fans.

It is usually a mixture of trolls, fans from other teams, and of course miserable Georgia fans whose expectations for their football team far exceed their own expectations in life. What makes it even more difficult is people invest a lot of emotional energy into being fans, but do not take the time to understand how football works and make judgements based on lack of understanding, yet somehow, find a way to feel like they are taking a moral high ground when corrected or called out. It is all very bizarre.

And watch how many down votes this comment gets as proof.

Well I'll give you an upvote because those things are obvious. All of us fans have irrational expections from time to time, no surprise there. But the trolls are out there too. If you look any place on the internet where anonymous people are allowed to give opinions, you'll find trolls. Some are just unhappy and, especially where money is involved, some are paid to influence the opinion of others.

Hope and expectations seem to get mixed sometimes I guess. I don’t have issues with those in principle. I do when they get nasty and shitty. Especially if the takes are not based on a sound understanding of what just happened.
Having a Larry Munson moment isn’t a bad thing, but Larry never said they suck or needed to be fired.

We are all on agreement here I don’t like some of our fan base and their reactions to every little bad thing that may happen in the course of a game/season. But I still think that’s a small amount of the overall fan base we are just on the boards and internet more so than average fan so we see the negative comments more. I may be wrong but just what I think. Now that I’ve gotten older I don’t follow every little aspect of recruiting, off season workouts, and etc. but I still like to come on here to stay in touch with what’s going on and X keeps me up to date also. I’m just not going to go back and forth with trolls anymore no matter how much I want to

Getting this in before the game. 24-14 Dawgs. We force them to throw and they do a little. Stockton connects on some but our running game is what sets the tone.
