The future is bright with this kid. Looked great in the spring game. Can he get medical clearance though? Tonight was not the downfall of Georgia football. We’re not going to be great every year. But this guy could step up like DJ Shockley did coming in after David Greene.

He was Raw before he had the brain tumor.

I bet he isn’t even a backup until 2021

Rumor is because of the brain surgery he will be medically DQ'd after the season. Hate it for the kid, if true.

Doubt he will ever play football again, unfortunately.

He had a cyst drained. Isn't that fairly routine nowadays and don't people fully recover from that. Why would he be medically DQ'ed after a year of rest?

Because they had to open his skull?

I get that, but people recover from that.

He is unlikely to ever play again.

Further fallout from the Fields curse, IMO.

Except for you, apparently.

Sure, but they also generally don't play one of the most violent games on Earth.

They do, but they don't have 300+ linemen trying to kill them, or have to duck out of a corner blitz.

He'll recover, he probably already has, but I don't think he'll play football again.

I know someone who fully recovered from a brain cyst dumbass. I'm not sure why that would end his football career, and if so, perhaps he should be told so and move on.

Because when you have brain tumors operated on, it's usually not a good idea to be taking shots to the head. Is that really hard to comprehend? Again, that's the rumor. tifwiw

Okay, but wasn't it a brain cyst and not a tumor? I feel for the kid. I thought he would be okay after a year of sitting out.

A cyst is essentially the same thing as a tumor. A cyst is a fluid filled sac whereas a tumor is a tissue filled "sac". Are you really arguing semantics? Is having a cyst removed from your brain really that much different than having a tumor removed? I mean, come on dude.

It actually can be really really really different. None of us have enough info to know what kind of ‘cyst.’ Overall it sucks and wish him the best.

Yes it's different. Like I said, I know someone who had this procedure, and he has a very physical, demanding job. He's made a full recovery and has had no complications. I realize football is different. It's not that big of a deal to keep arguing over.

Having a cyst drained and having it removed are different. I agree. Sounds like your friend and DM didn't have the same procedure.

Most of the time someone has a skull opened up, the NCAA is going to err on the side of caution. They don't want him to take a hard hit to the head again. I'd say his skull wouldnt be as strong....but that's just conjecture on my part....I'm no brain surgeon.
