Can we just skip the fire grantham step, save a couple of years, go ahead and get through the "lunatic fringe" stage and start the Fire Richt campaign? We all know that's how this ends...

@CrumpyYums Play young guys, expect them to struggle early and improve each week. Time to show improvement.

Yes whenever you lose your starters to the NFL it will pick up just how it was.

Yes, things change; however, well-run programs seem to manage to adapt. LSU and Bama send guys to the pros and: (1) aren't mediocre with the NFL talent while they have it; and (2) don't fall apart after it leaves. They plan ahead and recruit by anticipated need. They coach younger players up. They modify the schemes to fit their personnel. They make sure they've got a full (or close to it) roster of scholarship players.

@lindseylicht Changes? Maybe simplify plan to help young guys. Allow them to play faster. Drew, J Jenkins, Floyd, J-H-C pressure.

I'm sorry, but no matter how you slice it there will be a dropoff when you lose that many to the NFL.

The most damning thing is that we weren't even good on d while all the NFL talent was here

I do like your resilience B2L. You seem like an ok guy. Try to keep in mind a bunch of posters youre going back and forth with are a few, not all, but a handful of miserable bastards thatve been posting together while riding the mark richt rape train for years.

Some of em ive been posting with for 7 or 8 years and have seen meltdowns the cyber equivalent of the rodney king riots. So in actuality youve just called at a bad time

Which is why the two programs I mentioned have been mired in decades of medocrity now. Even the demons in Hell are weeping at the unfairness of it all, to see the ground that those programs lost.

And how many unused scholarships? How many sophomores and juniors familiar with the system and ready to step up and replace those who are gone?

Id rather have schollys to spare, than to run someone off.

That's fine. Everyone is deserves to have their own opinion as do I. They can vent all they want, and I'll just keep posting the way I want.

LSU has been in the mix for another title fairly regularly since their last one. The same cannot be said about UGA - we've flirted with it a little, but haven't really been contenders very often.

That's fatally shortsighted. Like it or not, the game is a business and self-inflicted competitive disadvantages are just stupid.
