I think if we protect Jake Fromm, we win. Think about it, being able to protect him means few, if any, negative yardage plays. When the defense isn’t able to pin us in on obvious running or passing downs we will have a field day. Protecting Fromm ensures that our whole playbook stays on the table. Protect Fromm=win going away. Struggle in protection means it’s anyone’s game, IMO.

I think this point is amplified being that it is as Tiger Stadium and that we have injuries along the offensive line.

Thoughts?

I’d say being able to run the ball effectively is just as important. If LSU can stuff the run and force us into obvious passing situations, then we’ll need to begin finding creative ways to get the ball into space and also getting room for runs.

Meant to up vote, dirtydawg. Dang sausage fingers! The reason I picked protection is because it seems like this year our pass has set up our run more han last year.

You good haha.

I agree with the protection. I just really want to see us run the ball down someone’s throat so people will back off the “UGA is soft in the trenches” narrative.

I think we will struggle to protect fromm due to Injuries on the oline.

This could be Fields big day with his ability to make something out of nothing.

Hopefully we can get our run game going with these young hogs leading the way.

I’m not worried about the O line.

Every starter on the Georgia offensive line has produced a PFF overall grade of 75.0 or higher so far this season, with left tackle Andrew Thomas the star of the show. With a PFF overall grade of 90.8, Thomas is the highest-graded offensive lineman in the nation, dominating both in pass protection and as a run-blocker. From 105 pass-blocking snaps, he has allowed just two hits and three hurries, with no sacks through five games. His PFF run-blocking grade of 90.5 is the second-highest mark of among all offensive linemen as well. As good as Thomas is though, it is the consistency across the line that drives their high ranking, with the Bulldogs ranking 15th in the nation with a 93.3 pass-blocking efficiency rating and owning the highest PFF run-blocking grade as a unit at 86.7 through six games.

Georgia HAS to be able to run the ball with authority. If they can do that they will take care of business.

To me, this game comes down to play calling. If Chaney calls a game similar to the Mizzo game(predictable between the tackle "break their will" run plays), LSU will be in the game. Aranda will eat his lunch.

If Chaney stays unpredictable, spreads it around, throws on first down, attacks the edge as well as between the tackle, gets the ball to Swift/Hardman in space, Dawgs win by 10 plus.

Fromm is in the game 40/60 run/pass.
Fields is in the game 70/30 run/pass.

Just how I see it.

We can win if we come out and make a big play to shut the crowd down like we did at South Carolina.
