He tried to come back too soon, IMO. He tore his Achilles in August and was going to try and pitch in April.

He was pitching some this past spring, and had some shoulder issues. Closed it down, and admitted he was over compensating for his sore and still healing achillies injury. So yes, he and the Braves rushed him, and now, he may never be well enough to pitch like he did last year.

The Braves should have told him that he won't pitch in the majors before the All Star Game this season no matter what. Giving him a hard deadline would have probably avoided this situation. It fricking sucks.
