Much as it breaks my heart I just don’t think this applies anymore.

The way the rules and refs favor offenses, defense has too many built in disadvantages. We’ve had it demonstrated to us clearly two years in a row.

I think maybe Saban saw the writing on the wall a few years back and even sold his defensive loving soul to the offensive devil.

We maybe can build an offense like that but it’s going to take some time.

Unfortunately, we don't appear to have a QB on our roster that can win us a championship.

Don't turn the ball over for 21 points and you might be saying something else.

We gave up 564 yards of offense.

Jones completed 75% of his passes for 400+ yards.

Najee ran for 150+ at almost 5 yards a pop.

We gave up a long TD pass in the second series of the game.

That's not all on turnovers.

FFS, we had some big bad breaks. We didn't utilize the TE's. The refs sucked. This should be enough to reign in everyone, including Pickens, and make a run. Don't be surprised when the score is flipped in December.

If we play Bama 100 times with Bennett at QB we lose 100 times. Alabama is not getting beat by a walk on QB.

Bennett may well be the best we got. It ain’t his fault. We simply do not develop or identify quality QBs. Until that changes we ain’t winning a natty

It seems kind of like it's more on the identify side of the equation. Eason was supposed to be the messiah, and uh...wasn't. Of the guys behind him, Fromm turned out pretty good, the rest, again...didn't. Constant turnover at OC probably doesn't help, since it has to be tough to recruit a guy when you don't even know what your offense's identity will be.

And the whole world was losing to an Austrian corporal from 1939-42.
