This has been a fun game to watch but it looks like we are going to fall short.

Officiating won them this game.

All we have to do is shoot 35% from three and we win games.
No need to want more if you are shooting like 300th in d1 as a team. There isn’t a world where that works

Was at the game. Mike White cost us that one. The full court trap was only giving Clemson open looks.
But this team can compete with anyone when Somto is in the game. The drop-off after him is huge

ClemPson did a nice job of limiting our transition game. We also should have played more zone against them. Overall, UGA didn’t play well either of these tourney games and ALMOST won both. I hate to take moral victories but we’re clearly going to be a competitive team this year.

This is what stood out for me; flawed defensive strategy.
You would think after they beat trap strategy every time it was engaged leading to to easy wide-open shots for Clemson, White would have changed strategy.
We have a good team but Clemson looked slightly better on offense and defense. We had to work hard to get open shots and most of the time we were taking heavily contested shots.
Clemson was getting a lot more open shots and making most of them.

A ton of Clemsons " open shots" were them using their fore arms and elbows into the chests of the defenders pushing off. They just were not pushing off, it was blatantly forceful and no whistles.

Most everything mentioned is true from everyone. However… if UGA is going to be the team they’re capable of being, Catchings is gonna have to snap out of this funk. The trio of Cain, Catchings, and Wilkinson can be very good.

Dawgs lead Tenn Tech 43-27. Much better perimeter defense but our FT shooting is still abysmal.

Dawgs erupted and are destroying Tenn Tech 62-36 at the half. Dawgs score 22 points in final 2:30.

Crazy how we can make some 3s. Going for the highest total ever again this season.
Love playing this cupcake schedule while trying to build a program

Dawgs win 123-81 improving to 7-1 on the season. Great way to end November for UGA athletics. Program record 21 3’s today as well.

Glad the boys got to see some 3s go on the basket

What stood out is they were shooting almost 50% from 3. Catchings does need to step it up. Guy can dominate. He could be a star but he cant have these lull stretches. He has to be dominate and be more of a leader.

Agreed. Catchings is the key imo. Cain looked very good today as well. We’re gonna live and die by these 3 guards this year. Wildcards are Smurf and Bailey. Overall, we’re better and the league doesn’t look as dominant as it did a year ago. Fingers crossed.
