This thread was definitely needed... no chance it was brought up in the recruiting thread... or on the SEC recruiting board...

But while I'm here.. frick Florida.

We can bring up 4 threads about UF burning and I'll upvote every one...

My bad. Just saw no thread about it. Should have realized it would have been in the R.T.

That said, frick UFelon.

There is no inappropriate time to revel in the fact that UF's recruiting rankings stand between Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

I'm in favor of this thread. It's not like the GSB is booming while we wait for our next game.

Any time is a good time to bash Florida

Well well....this is big news.

Andrew Ellis (Ohio Insider) just flipped his CB for Emory Jones to Florida.

I'd heard Miami was in a good spot as well as either Alabama or Auburn... that would be an interesting development. He's a bit of a project IMO, but would be a good pull for them in year 1. Would prefer to see that not happen still.

I knew this kid was going to Ole Miss (from thread title on tRant), but did not know he had been a Gator commit

I'm guessing you don't follow recruiting much (if at all)? Not poking fun or anything, as it's certainly not a requirement and not for everyone... but he's been a pretty central cog to their class for a while.

FWIW, he's probably a poor fit for what Mullen wants to do anyways... I don't see this entirely as a "flip" as much as it might be Mullen looking for someone who can run the type of offense he wants... more power runs from the QB position for example. Corral isn't a Tebow or Dak kinda guy... he fits what Ole Miss has done over the last few years (as well as plenty of schools out west). Seems to be a bit of a character concern around him, so not terribly surprising that he's struggled to find the right home, but nonetheless, he would have been the best QB on Florida's roster next season by a wide margin if he had selected them. Poor fit or not, if Mullen doesn't find a pretty good replacement, it's going to have been a colossal misstep IMO.

then he would have been a great fit for UF

FYI, we're 5 days away from the first signing period. It's no longer limited to EEs and JUCOs. UGA is expected to have probably 80% of its class filled in this period. February is no longer your big recruiting bonanza that it used to be. Good for the coaches... less good for me, as NSD was always a fun day to take a long lunch for and watch the madness unfold.

Apparently that included high school. I think he played at three different schools.
