All day this. It's hilarious to think whiny fans posting messages influences Kirby's thought process. As for the pundits, their job nowadays is to stir the pot much like journalists in the 24/7 news cycle...if you can't find controversy it just doesn't drive clicks.

I'm thrilled that for 3 consecutive years we've either been in the playoff or a major player in the discussion into DECEMBER. We'll be in it again this year. You need a hell of a lot of stuff to fall your way to win a natty...it's great to have a coach who has set us up to consistently be in contention.

Be careful sir... someone who doesn’t know the definition of mediocrity is gonna say you accept mediocrity...

Crappy offense that was falling behind the times. If he thought that was still the best approach, he would have kept Coley as OC. He realized that it wasn’t the best approach so he has made a pretty significant adjustment. Why else do it if he wasn’t being introspective and questioning his philosophy? That requires a certain degree of humility which put another way means “swallowing ones pride.” His actions give me all of the insight that I need.

We are not mediocre Peter Buck. Maybe some will say that but I won’t. Kirbys actions so far this off season reflect the fact that he sees the need for a change of direction offensively. Of course the fans and the media didn’t make the decision for him but his actions have fallen in line with those very people that some of y’all claim as negadawgs and complainers. It does mean that many of the people critical of the offense this season were not doing so in some grand conspiracy to bury UGA football team.. Kirby seems to think so. His actions kind of prove that. I didn’t think he would move off of his approach. I stand corrected and applaud him for doing so.

LSU made an easy promotion of an OC to a HC... a dude that has been fired many times...and the HC promoted a dude to OC that was fired from High School jobs. They did ok, but not as good as UGA the last few years overall... then, they brought in an NFL guy to add some wrinkles to the offense. The offense thrived.

Did Ed O swallow his pride or did he bring in a dude to help his old OC who is a good recruiter and had been fired from many coaching jobs? Or did Ed O bring in a dude to help inject some nee wrinkles and schemes to his offense? Now that the NFL dude is gone, is Ed O gonna have to swallow some sort of pride again? I want to study your emotionally biased logic.

Ed O will prosper or fail with the decisions that he makes for LSU and will have to figure out how to replace Brady. But I don’t care about them and don’t keep up with their program like I do UGA. As a result, I don’t really have a bearing on Coach Os pride other than “Geaux Tigahs” at the end of every interview.

Kirby had to make a decision for UGA. You are a grown man and allegedly a former player for UGA. Surely you are not saying that an SEC level coach doesn’t have to humble himself to at least a certain degree to acknowledge that his current approach might not be the best? Even more so when that is all that he is hearing from the peanut gallery.

I applaud that.

In order to swallow your pride, you have to have knowingly have made a bad or easy decision at the time of making the decision. If you make a decision in good faith and it doesn’t turn out as expected and you make a change ... especially a relatively fast and decisive change, it is just being a good leader. It doesn’t have shite to do with pride or emotion... it’s just business....

Correct. He knowingly made an easy decision by promoting Coley to OC. It was easy and convenient. But it can also be in good faith at the same time. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. I don’t believe that he would have made the easy decision if he didn’t believe that the offensive approach that he liked wasn’t going to be very successful.

Maybe he just had a little self reflection and decided that he mis calculated on Coley as an OC and also on his offensive philosophy as a whole? Yes, it takes true leadership to find the humility to correct errors. That’s why I am proud of him.

I respect your opinions and appreciate the cordial debate. You can have the last word of you wish.
